On the side of Hue city, there were Ms. Dinh Thi Nhu Hien - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Hue City People's Committee; Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Yen - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, representatives of leaders of departments, branches, People's Committees of communes and wards; universities, colleges and enterprises in the area.
Overview of the Conference and Competition Launch.
The conference focused on disseminating new regulations on foreign affairs, analyzing the international situation and its impacts on Vietnam, and sharing opportunities and challenges when implementing new-generation free trade agreements in the field of science and technology. At the same time, the Online Contest to learn about Digital Transformation of Hue City in 2025 was launched. This is a meaningful activity to help raise awareness and digital skills for the community, contributing to promoting the movement "Digital Education for the People" in Hue City.
In his opening speech at the Conference, Mr. Hoang Huu Hanh, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology emphasized: In the context of globalization, science and technology, innovation and digital transformation are key driving forces of the development process. International integration and cooperation are no longer an option but an inevitable requirement for localities to take advantage of global knowledge, technology and experience resources, serving the goal of rapid and sustainable development.
Mr. Hoang Huu Hanh, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology delivered the opening speech at the Conference.
Mr. Hoang Huu Hanh also said that the Ministry of Science and Technology has advised the Government to issue 11 strategic technology groups, thereby calling for the participation of international partners and large domestic and foreign enterprises to jointly solve major problems and issues of the country. At the same time, the Ministry of Science and Technology has also promoted science and technology diplomacy, supported enterprises to expand international markets, and affirmed Vietnam's active role in bilateral and multilateral relations. The Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology hopes that localities, including Hue city, will improve their international integration capacity, effectively implement international economic commitments, proactively update knowledge and world situations to flexibly adapt to the new context.
Speaking at the Conference, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Yen, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Hue City, emphasized the important role of international integration in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, which will open up new momentum for Hue City to accelerate and make a breakthrough. At the same time, launching an online contest to learn about Digital Transformation in 2025, calling for the active participation of departments, branches, People's Committees of wards and communes, universities, colleges and people in the area. Thereby, contributing to raising awareness and digital skills for the community, spreading the strong spirit of the "Digital Education for All" movement in the city.

Accordingly, the Contest will take place from September 12 to October 12, 2025 on the Hue-S digital platform, including 20 multiple-choice questions and 01 prediction question. The content focuses on the Party's guidelines and policies, State laws, documents of the Central Government and Hue City related to digital transformation; smart urban services; online public services; Hue-S platform; digital transformation index (DTI) ... aiming at the goal of building digital government, digital economy and digital society.

At the conference, representatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented the following topics: (1) Strengthening local foreign affairs in the new situation; (2) International integration in the field of quality measurement standards; (3) International integration in the field of intellectual property; (4) International integration and opportunities for investment and trade cooperation in the field of science and technology.
Mr. Nguyen Dong Trung, Deputy Director, Department of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared the topic at the Conference.
The training conference and the launch of the Competition not only contribute to improving the capacity for international integration in the field of science and technology but also create motivation to promote comprehensive digital transformation in Hue city. This is an important step, affirming the determination of the government and people in building Hue into a smart, creative and sustainably developed city.
