Early spring green farming experience

Việt NamViệt Nam08/02/2025

Towards a green economy

Spring is coming, visiting the farm of Mr. Nguyen Minh Hieu, Deputy Director of Binh Phuoc Digital Agricultural Service Cooperative, Phuoc Tin Commune, Phuoc Long Town, seeing the durian flower clusters in the blooming stage, ivory white color about to bloom and give off a strong fragrance, we feel a bumper crop is coming. Looking at the lawn mower running around the green durian trees designed in straight rows, each tree has a growing area code like the names given to their children by their parents at birth. To save water, costs, and ensure suitable humidity for the trees and soil, Mr. Hieu installed a drip irrigation system using Israeli technology. Spraying and pest control for trees is done by drones, automatic sprayers and Internet of Things (IoT) applications to minimize the amount of pesticides in farming, protecting public health.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Hieu, Deputy Director of Binh Phuoc Digital Agricultural Service Cooperative, Phuoc Tin Commune, Phuoc Long Town, operates a lawn mower at his family farm.

The durian garden of more than 10 hectares out of the total area of 30 hectares of the farm is green, full of vitality and the ecological, smart, modern farming method of Mr. Hieu clearly shows his love of work and his awareness and responsibility to himself and the community. In his story of getting rich from green agriculture, Mr. Hieu excitedly shared: Over the past 2 years, his family has officially exported over 100 tons of durian to China, not to mention retail markets such as Japan and some other countries. I hope the farm is a model for people to refer to, learn from and share together to build a large, high-quality raw material area, together for sustainable and long-term export. Every farmer can get rich from their own land and local agricultural products.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Hieu sprays pesticides on plants with an automatic sprayer.

Leaving Mr. Hieu's farm, we went to the border district of Loc Ninh to visit the Loc Quang organic pepper cooperative. Our first impression was that with just a smartphone, Mr. Dieu Rup skillfully operated the pepper cultivation processes of the cooperative. Mr. Pham Thanh Chung, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of Loc Quang organic pepper cooperative shared: The total area of the cooperative is 21 hectares. Currently, all pepper and fruit trees, vegetables, etc. of the cooperative members apply microbiological technology. We soak biological products, agricultural by-products, create input materials such as goat manure, cow manure, banana juice, etc. to put into the process of caring for pepper plants and vegetables, tubers, and fruits of the cooperative. This method both contributes to soil improvement and creates clean products that meet the tastes, ensuring the health of consumers and producers.

According to Mr. Pham Thanh Chung, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of Loc Quang Organic Pepper Cooperative, green agriculture is the right direction and in line with the general trend when it limits pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

Pepper of Loc Quang organic pepper cooperative is green and endless

“Our input care process creates much higher nutritional value for pepper products and vegetables, tubers and fruits than the traditional method. We have to do it to increase the value of the products, contribute to the development of the green economy, and create a green future for ourselves and the community. I think organic farming and green farming are right and in line with the world trend when it limits pesticides and chemical fertilizers in plants and soil,” said Mr. Chung.

Inevitable trend

According to Professor of Physics, Doctor of Philosophy Vu Gia Hien: Life is formed from the energy source of the universe and the earth, whether human life on earth is good or not, the environment is the important factor that determines that. And people have the right to choose, create a living environment for themselves, good or bad, green, clean or polluted, and there are many solutions to save our living environment. However, in the context of the environment facing many serious challenges due to climate change and natural resources are gradually depleted, green agriculture is one of the good solutions to protect the environment and improve human health.

Professor of Physics, Doctor of Philosophy Vu Gia Hien and Doctor Nguyen Van Bac discussed in the program "Protecting life from green agriculture" of Binh Phuoc Radio - Television and Newspaper.

According to Dr. Pham Thi Hong Phuong, Head of the Department of Materials Chemical Technology, Faculty of Chemical Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry: Everyone has the right to live and survive. Everyone wants to live healthily in a good environment. However, the living environment of humans and the earth is increasingly deteriorating due to the challenges of global climate change and environmental pollution. To reduce emissions and minimize the negative impacts of climate change on human health and life, the story of developing green, environmentally friendly agriculture is the direction chosen by Vietnam and many countries in the world.

According to Dr. Pham Thi Hong Phuong, Head of the Department of Chemical Materials Technology, Faculty of Chemical Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, developing green, environmentally friendly agriculture is the direction chosen by Vietnam and many countries in the world.

Green agriculture is an inevitable trend of sustainable agriculture. Green agriculture brings many benefits to different aspects of life. In particular, agricultural products are what we eat every day, the air we breathe every day is safe or not, green agriculture plays an extremely important role. Therefore, doing green agriculture is an inevitable way to save our lives today and tomorrow.

Dr. NGUYEN VAN BAC, Director of Bu Dop District Agricultural Service Center

Dr. Nguyen Van Bac, Director of the Bu Dop District Agricultural Service Center, shared: Green agriculture is an agricultural production that applies synchronous processes and technologies to use rationally and economically production inputs and effectively use natural resources. However, the ultimate goal of green agriculture is not only to increase product value but also to eliminate farming methods that harm land, water, air, livestock, crops, microorganisms and human health. The ultimate result of green agriculture is a peaceful, diverse, complementary nature and people from generation to generation living in symbiosis with the good values that nature gives. That is a source of quality food, a healthy living environment for the health of all species, including human life.

In early spring, experiencing the green farming practices of some farms and cooperatives, especially listening to the opinions of agricultural experts talking about the benefits and significance of green farming to human life, we are truly happy with the quickness, creativity and responsibility for the community, for the green future of Binh Phuoc farmers. Hopefully this new year, there will be more green farming models of decent farmers continuing to spread, creating green farming movements for Binh Phuoc agriculture to develop sustainably, contributing to protecting the health and life of each of us.

In the bustling atmosphere of spring everywhere, the red land of Binh Phuoc seems to light up with green gardens covered with the fragrant scent of flowers and fruits, signaling a new year of blossoming and bearing fruit, bringing a bountiful harvest, prosperity and abundance.
