International investment hub
At the Da Nang Venture and Angel Investment Forum 2026 (DAVAS 2026), held from May 25-27 with the theme "Innovation, Meeting Global Investors," in-depth pitching sessions were organized for each sector, helping startups connect with the right investors and increasing the potential for strategic partnerships.

Specifically, the "Digital Frontiers" session focuses on Web3, Blockchain, Fintech, and AI applications in digital finance; the "Human-Centered AI" session aims at technological solutions to improve quality of life; and the "Creating Sustainable Impact" session focuses on GreenTech, Climate Tech, AgriTech, and circular economy models.
The competition at DAVAS 2026 is very high, with each project having only about 15 minutes to present to investment funds in a "dealroom" format, where startups must demonstrate feasibility, growth potential, and global scalability. In addition, DAVAS 2026 also provides dedicated pitching space for 11 promising student startups to directly access international investors.
“I hope that international investment funds will not only come to Da Nang to seek opportunities but will also see Da Nang as a place to jointly create new value for the Southeast Asian region. I also hope that the startup community will be bolder, dare to think bigger, dare to step into the global market, and dare to pursue major societal problems through technology and innovation,” said Ho Quang Buu, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee.
Expectations are high for potential and substantial investment deals.
According to Pham Hong Quat, Director of the National Institute for Innovation, Da Nang is emerging as a dynamic locality with innovative thinking and high determination in developing a creative startup ecosystem. The city is not only focused on supporting startups but is also gradually positioning itself in new fields such as fintech, AI, Web3, technology sandbox, and an international financial center.
Commenting on DAVAS 2026, he stated that the forum should not be limited to networking sessions or memoranda of understanding. He expects it to be a space for dialogue between policy, market, technology, and the startup community; a starting point for substantial investment deals, where startups find partners and investors find long-term growth value in Vietnam, and where new policy initiatives can be tested right here in Da Nang.
"For those of you who are founders of startups, persevere with the practical problems of the economy. Innovation is only truly valuable when it creates new productivity and new competitiveness for the nation," shared Pham Hong Quat, Director of the National Institute for Innovation.

"I believe that, with a constructive institutional framework, unlocked capital, strengthened innovation infrastructure, developed human resources, and a widespread entrepreneurial spirit throughout society, Vietnam will gradually realize its goal of becoming a leading innovative startup nation in the region," said Mr. Pham Hong Quat.
The Ministry of Science and Technology is committed to supporting Da Nang.
Pham Hong Quat, Director of the National Institute for Innovation, also, on behalf of the Ministry of Science and Technology leadership, pledged to continue working alongside localities, supporting the removal of institutional barriers to unlock resources, create a transparent business environment for enterprises, and build a genuine, effective, and internationally integrated innovative startup ecosystem.
Due to his commitments accompanying a state delegation on an overseas trip, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh was unable to attend DAVAS 2026, but he still sent a heartfelt speech. In it, he emphasized that with an ecosystem undergoing rapid development and needing impetus to reach international standards, Da Nang's hosting of an annual event like DAVAS is extremely significant.
According to him, the event aims to establish a comprehensive and effective capital channel for innovative business models. Through this, the event contributes to enhancing the capacity of local startups through training programs in presentation skills, valuation, and access to international markets. At the same time, it sends a strong message to global investors about Da Nang's readiness, transparency, and professionalism in supporting technology-based business models.
“The Ministry of Science and Technology is committed to continuing to work closely with Da Nang in perfecting mechanisms and policies to support startups, especially promoting the role of angel investors and venture capital funds so that our ecosystem will have more technology unicorns in the future,” Deputy Minister Hoang Minh emphasized.
