Recently, the provincial Social Insurance in coordination with the People's Committee of Phuoc Hai Ward (Nha Trang City) organized a conference to communicate social insurance policies to more than 50 food production and business households. Here, people were informed about the benefits of participating in social insurance, especially the new regulation on compulsory participation of business owners in social insurance according to the Social Insurance Law 2024 (effective from July 1, 2025). Ms. Le Thi Diem Thuy ( Dong Nai Street, Phuoc Hai Ward) said that she had previously participated in social insurance when she was a worker for a company. However, more than 10 years ago, she quit her job to open a food stall at home and decided to withdraw her social insurance at once. After attending the conference, she was advised by social insurance officers about the many benefits of social insurance today, so she thought about participating in voluntary social insurance to enjoy long-term benefits.

Not only in Nha Trang City, since the beginning of the year, Social Insurance of districts, towns and cities in the province have deployed many forms of communication such as: Organizing conferences, small group communication, propaganda through local loudspeakers, mass media, social networking platforms and visual propaganda products. By the end of April, the Social Insurance system of the whole province had coordinated to organize 11 communication conferences on voluntary social insurance and self-paid health insurance for nearly 400 people and freelance workers. At the same time, coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province to organize a conference to propagate social insurance and health insurance policies for 100 dignitaries, officials and monks. Thereby, 1,549 people participated in voluntary social insurance and 419 people participated in self-paid health insurance, at the conference alone, 28 people registered for voluntary social insurance, 25 people participated in health insurance...

Communication focuses on practical content

Mr. Pham Xuan Hai - Deputy Director of the Provincial Social Insurance Management and Operation Department said that in response to the "Month of promoting the implementation of universal social insurance" in May, the Social Insurance agency continues to promote communication of the new policy of the Social Insurance Law 2024, emphasizing the rights of participants, regulations on social insurance payment responsibilities, handling of violations, the long-term value of receiving pensions and free health insurance cards throughout retirement; at the same time, clarifying the risks when receiving one-time social insurance and leaving the social security net.

Along with organizing conferences, dialogues, and direct consultations at the one-stop shop, the provincial Social Insurance and local Social Insurance agencies also hung banners, slogans, and propaganda flags in central areas, integrating communication into events of Workers' Month and Action Month on occupational safety and hygiene. At the same time, the Social Insurance agency proactively edited and published leaflets, brochures, and propaganda clips on social networks to promptly answer questions from people and businesses.

According to statistics by the end of April, the whole province had 215,374 people participating in social insurance (compulsory and voluntary), an increase of 625 people compared to March, reaching a coverage rate of 41.61% compared to the working-age labor force (the target for 2025 is 45.07%). The number of people participating in health insurance in the whole province reached 1,227,588 people, an increase of 6,038 people compared to March, reaching a coverage rate of 96.17% (the target assigned by the Provincial People's Council and Provincial People's Committee is 96.76%).
