Speeding up the progress of projects in the mountainous district of Vu Quang

These days, the Management Board of Construction Investment Projects of Vu Quang district (Ha Tinh) is focusing on the site to inspect and urge contractors to mobilize human resources and speed up the construction progress of the projects.

Contractors focus on speeding up the construction progress of Khe Xai Dam project in Huong Minh commune.

The Khe Xai Dam repair and upgrade project is of particular importance to the socio-economic development of Vu Quang district. With a total investment of nearly 14.5 billion VND, the project started on September 30, 2022 and is expected to be completed on September 30, 2023.

When put into operation, Khe Xai dam not only ensures a stable supply of irrigation water for 54 hectares of double-crop rice fields in the villages of Hop Thang and Hop Loi of Huong Minh commune, but also contributes to preventing erosion and degradation of agricultural land and hill gardens; preventing floods downstream, contributing to production development and improving people's lives.

Khe Xai dam project has progressed more than 85%.

The working atmosphere at the Khe Xai dam repair and upgrade construction site is urgent and serious. Groups of workers are highly focused on their work; technical staff closely follow the scene to promptly adjust items.

Mr. Phan Trong Cuong - technical officer in charge of the project (Vu Quang District Investment and Construction Project Management Board) shared: "The Khe Xai dam project has achieved more than 85% progress, has completed the construction of the No. 1 flood spillway, the water intake culvert under the dam, and is implementing the construction of the main dam, the operation house... The District Investment and Construction Project Management Board is focusing on directing the construction unit and related units to mobilize maximum machinery, human resources, supplies and materials to complete the project before the flood season, meeting the project's schedule".

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, a resident of Hop Loi village (Huong Minh commune) excitedly said: “Every rainy season, Khe Xai dam is flooded, the risk of dam failure is always present, we, the people living under the dam, are always worried. Therefore, when the Khe Xai dam project was deployed, the people were very sympathetic and supportive. Witnessing the technical staff and workers working hard, we are excited and hope that the project will be completed soon, ensuring quality and promoting good efficiency.”

The project to upgrade Con Cuong - Ong Dan road in Quang Tho commune is also being urgently constructed by the contractor.

The construction atmosphere at the rural road upgrade site of Con Cuong - Ong Dan (Quang Tho commune) is also very busy. Mr. Phan Van Son - technical officer in charge of the project (Vu Quang District Investment and Construction Project Management Board) said: "This route is nearly 2 km long, with a construction cost of nearly 6 billion VND, the construction period is from July 2023 and is expected to be completed in December 2023. Up to now, the workload has reached about 60%; in which, the main items such as earth filling and drainage construction have been basically completed. The team of technical officers and workers are focusing on spreading stones and asphalting...".

According to Mr. Son, in addition to mobilizing machinery and human resources to speed up progress and ensure project quality, the investor and related units always closely follow each item to ensure labor safety.

Officers of the Vu Quang District Construction Investment Project Management Board regularly go to the grassroots to inspect and urge contractors to focus on implementing projects.

In addition to Khe Xai dam and Con Cuong - Ong Dan road, Vu Quang district is also urgently focusing on construction of projects such as: upgrading the sidewalk at Duc Bong intersection Km 64+500/QL.281 (intersection between QL.281 and DT552); Huong Minh Primary School library; upgrading the main road system of village 5, building a traffic system from village 3 connecting village 5 to Tho Dien commune... Currently, all projects are on schedule, investors and contractors are focusing on human resources and machinery, speeding up the construction progress to strive to complete before the rainy season.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Tho - Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Vu Quang district said: "The civil works in the area are of great significance to the socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, completing local infrastructure, bringing Vu Quang to sustainable development in the coming time; at the same time, creating conditions for people to develop production and increase income.

Therefore, although there were many difficulties during the implementation process, with the strong direction of the district leaders, the determination of the construction unit and the efforts of the staff and workers, the problems were gradually overcome to maintain the pace and ensure the set progress.
