Forecast in the next 24 hours until 7am on September 24, the center of storm No. 9 will be at about 21.3N-114.0E in the northern sea area of the North East Sea, about 400km east of Leizhou Peninsula (China). The strongest wind near the center of the super storm is level 15-16, gusting to level 17, moving in the West Northwest direction at a speed of about 20-25km/h.

Phu Tho Province's Hydrometeorological Station has sent the Standing Office of the Provincial Civil Defense, PCTT & TKCN Committee an initial assessment of storm No. 9 to proactively prevent, combat and respond to the impact of rain and floods.
Accordingly, it is estimated that from September 25 to September 27, due to the influence of storm No. 9's circulation, a large-scale heavy rain will occur in the province. The total rainfall from September 25 to September 27 is generally 150-250mm, locally over 350mm. There may be localized rain with high intensity of over 100mm in 3 hours.
From the afternoon of September 25 to the morning of September 26, the province is likely to be affected by strong storm winds of level 4 and level 5.
From the afternoon of September 27, heavy rain in the province gradually decreased.
Warning of possible thunderstorms ahead of storms occurring on the 24th and
September 25. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind above level 6.

Heavy rain and localized heavy rain are forecast to cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.
Thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind can affect human life, agricultural production, break trees, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.
Due to the complicated developments of storm No. 9 when it enters the Gulf of Tonkin, forecasts and warnings of heavy rain, floods, flash floods, and landslides will be updated and provided promptly when it is likely to affect Phu Tho province.
