Can Tho: Construction begins on housing project for the People's Public Security armed forces.
On the afternoon of May 28th, the groundbreaking ceremony for the housing project for the People's Public Security armed forces in Can Tho City took place in Cai Khe Ward, Can Tho City.
Attending the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Public Security Dang Hong Duc, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee Le Quang Tung, Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen, along with leaders of many departments and agencies and a large number of officers and soldiers of the city's police force.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Minister of Public Security Dang Hong Duc requested the investor, the city police, and the construction unit to enhance their sense of responsibility, ensuring the project's progress, quality, and aesthetics so that officers and soldiers can celebrate Tet 2028 in new, spacious, and stable homes.
According to the Deputy Minister of Public Security, the project must simultaneously ensure three important requirements: sustainable and long-lasting construction quality; modern architecture that contributes to urban aesthetics; and expedited construction while maintaining the highest level of safety and quality.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, Truong Canh Tuyen, assessed that the commencement of the project not only has social welfare significance but also demonstrates the concern of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and the Ministry of Public Security in caring for the material and spiritual lives of officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security force.
According to Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen, the project is expected to contribute to improving the lives of officers and soldiers, creating conditions for the police force to work with peace of mind, remain committed to the unit for the long term, and successfully complete assigned tasks.
The project, invested by KVG Housing Investment and Development Joint Stock Company under Khanh Vinh Group, is being developed on a land area of approximately 31,473 m², including social housing, commercial housing, public green spaces, a kindergarten, parking lots, internal transportation, and integrated technical infrastructure.
The project comprises a total of 943 apartments, including 784 social housing units and 159 commercial housing units, meeting the housing needs of approximately 2,854 people. The project is expected to be completed and put into use in the third quarter of 2028.
Ca Mau : Construction begins on 1,000 houses for poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households.
On the same day, Ca Mau province held a groundbreaking ceremony for 1,000 houses for poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households; and also received many social welfare support projects donated by Dong Nai city.
The program is seen as a continuation of Ca Mau province's 2025 campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Previously, the locality had completed over 9,600 houses ahead of schedule with a total cost of over 471 billion VND.
In addition to the housing support program, Ca Mau province also received approximately 112 billion VND from Dong Nai city to build three new standard health stations in remote communes, including Dat Mui commune, Hung My commune, and Ninh Thanh Loi commune.
In addition, Dong Nai city is also providing 150 billion VND to implement the Youth Park project in Tan Thanh ward. The project, covering over 2.5 hectares and featuring the "Ca Mau Crab" symbol, is expected to create more green space and a community area for local youth.

The social housing project on the extended Nguyen Trai road provides 276 apartments with a total investment of 357 billion VND.
Promoting the goal of developing social housing.
In Dong Thap province, on May 27th, Son An Huong Son Joint Stock Company held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Social Housing Project on the extended Nguyen Trai road in Son Qui ward, with a total investment of over 357 billion VND.
This is considered one of the locality's key social welfare projects, aiming to concretize the Government's plan to build 1 million social housing units, while also meeting the increasing housing needs of low-income people and the workforce in the area.
According to the developer, the project, upon completion, will provide 276 standard apartment units, meeting the housing needs of more than 1,000 residents.
Priority groups include people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution, low-income earners, cadres, civil servants, and workers who are facing housing difficulties.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ha Thien Y, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Dong Thap province, said that developing social housing is a key task in the province's sustainable development strategy.
Currently, Dong Thap province is managing 12 social housing projects with a total of 4,749 apartments. In 2026, the province aims to complete 4 projects with 1,175 apartments, while continuing to implement the remaining 8 projects with a scale of 3,574 apartments.
To achieve the central government's target of 12,200 social housing units by 2030, Dong Thap is also actively seeking investment for three more large projects with a total capacity of over 17,000 units.
The simultaneous implementation of social housing projects and welfare works in localities in the Mekong Delta region not only helps to address the housing needs of the people, armed forces, and workers, but also contributes to promoting urban development, stabilizing social welfare, and creating momentum for sustainable socio-economic development in the coming period.
