Method 2: Combine the 2025 high school graduation exam results with international certificates for admission consideration

Admission requirements

- Candidates with IELTS Academic 6.0 or higher/TOEFL iBT 80 or higher.
- Candidates with international SAT certificate from 1340 points or higher.
- The international certificate is valid for 2 years from the exam date to the deadline for receiving the international certificate according to the school's admission announcement.

Admission requirements: Candidates must have graduated from high school and the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam must have a total score of the B00/A00/B03/B08 combination and priority points (if any) equal to or above the minimum score threshold to ensure input quality as prescribed by the Admissions Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Rules

1) Admission score

The admission score is the total score of the exams/subjects on a 10-point scale for each exam/subject of the admission combination B00, A00, B03 and B08 plus the regional and subject priority points according to regulations and the international certificate bonus points rounded to two decimal places before adding.

Admission score = Total score of 3 exams (a) + Priority points (b) + Bonus points (c)

(on a 30-point scale)

(a) = exam scores of Math + Biology + Chemistry / Math + Physics + Chemistry / Math + Biology + Literature / Math + Biology + English;
(b) = priority points by region, subject;
(c) = bonus points for international certificates are rounded to two decimal places before being added to the admission score.

2) Plus points

International English Certificate: (choose only 1 of 2)	International Certificate SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test)
+ IELTS = 0.9 × IELTS score / 9 + TOEFL iBT = 0.9 × TOEFL iBT score / 120	SAT = 0.9 × SAT score / 1600

3) Admission principles

Candidates with international certificates will be awarded points according to the school's own regulations. Bonus points will only be calculated when candidates submit certified copies of international certificates (IELTS/ TOEFL iBT/ SAT) in accordance with the conditions on the threshold for bonus points and within the time specified in the school's admission announcement.

The list of successful candidates is selected according to the admission scores, from high to low until the quota is met. In case many candidates have the same admission score at the end of the list, the school will give priority to the candidate with the higher priority, with the first priority being the highest priority.

Method 3: Direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training

Object

With the direct admission method, candidates for direct admission to Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy are considered according to the provisions of Article 8 of the 2025 University Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Firstly , candidates who are Labor Heroes, People's Armed Forces Heroes, and national emulation fighters are admitted directly to university in all majors.

Second , the school directly admits candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in national and international competitions for excellent students organized and sent by the Ministry of Education and Training, the time of winning the prize is no more than 3 years from the time of direct admission, and have graduated from high school.

For biology , candidates who win first prize in the national excellent student exam will be admitted directly to study medicine or dentistry at university. Candidates who win first, second, or third prize in the international excellent student exam will be admitted directly to study medicine or dentistry at university.

Candidates who win first, second, and third prizes in biology will also be directly admitted to university to study one of the following majors: traditional medicine, preventive medicine, nursing, nursing specializing in anesthesia and resuscitation, midwifery, public health , medical testing techniques, rehabilitation techniques, medical imaging techniques, dental prosthetic techniques, nutrition, and social work.

In chemistry , the first prize winner will be admitted directly to university to study pharmacy. The first, second and third prize winners will be admitted directly to university to study medical laboratory technology and pharmaceutical chemistry.

In physics , the first prize winner is admitted directly to the university of pharmacy.

Direct admission of candidates with prizes in science and technology competitions in 2 fields

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy directly admits candidates who have won first, second, and third prizes in national and international science and technology competitions organized and sent by the Ministry of Education and Training, the time of winning the prize is no more than 3 years from the time of direct admission, have graduated from high school and have a project or scientific research topic related to specific fields.

In the fields of medicine, biology and the content of the topic is suitable for the training field, the first prize winner will be admitted directly to study at the university in the field of traditional medicine, preventive medicine. The first, second and third prize winners will be admitted directly to study at the university in one of the following fields: nursing, nursing specializing in anesthesia and resuscitation, midwifery, public health, medical laboratory technology, rehabilitation technology, medical imaging technology, dental prosthetic technology, nutrition, social work.

In the fields of chemistry , pharmacy and the content of the topic is suitable for the training industry, candidates who win first, second and third prizes will be admitted directly to university to study medical testing technology and pharmaceutical chemistry.

The determination of the content of the scientific research topic related to and appropriate to the training industry is decided by the admissions council.
