Proposal to add 3 more subjects to the V-SAT exam

(NLDO) - In addition to the literature subject included in the V-SAT exam, many opinions suggest adding information technology, technology, economic education and law to the exam.

On November 6, at the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, the National Center for Testing and Education Quality Assessment (Ministry of Education and Training) held a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement on organizing exams and sharing the results of the V-SAT university entrance exam. Attending the signing ceremony were representatives of 22 universities in Ho Chi Minh City and provinces across the country.

At the signing ceremony, representatives of many universities discussed exam organization techniques, exam question banks, exam fees, etc. MSc. Le Van Hien, Deputy Head of the Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, said that in addition to the literature subject being included in the exam organization, technology, information technology, and economic and legal education should be added to the exam; the exam fee should be uniform. In addition, Mr. Hien wondered whether or not to add students in grades 10 and 11 to participate in the exam.

Dr. Nguyen Quoc Anh, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, suggested that the exam name should be unified because currently, the schools organizing the exam write it differently. There needs to be a common concept and common connection to communicate to students to clearly understand the exam, to avoid students thinking that this is an exam organized by the schools themselves.

A representative from the Banking Academy also said that there are currently too many exams organized by many schools, so there needs to be a unified communication to make it clear to students.

Regarding the organization of the literature exam, a representative of the National Center for Testing and Education Quality Assessment said that the exam questions are ready, the problem is that the exam marking is done by the schools themselves or by contracting with the center to mark.

According to MSc. Le Trong Tuyen, Deputy Head of Training Management Department, University of Finance - Marketing, it is necessary to optimize the organization of exams to create favorable conditions for candidates to take the exam at the nearest place as well as for admission.

A representative of the University of Economics and Finance in Ho Chi Minh City proposed a common connection so that schools can look up results, avoiding the situation where candidates using exam results for admission have to go for confirmation.

To consider university admission, in addition to the results of the high school graduation exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, many universities also organize other exams for candidates to take to get admission results such as: Competency assessment exam of 2 National Universities, thinking assessment exam organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology, V-SAT exam, computer-based competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Education...
