Despite the challenging foreign language exam, candidates are confident of achieving a score of 9.
TPO - After finishing the Foreign Language exam on the afternoon of May 30th, many candidates taking the entrance exam for 10th grade in public high schools in Hanoi said that the exam had a good level of difficulty, but they were still confident of achieving a score above 9 points.

On the afternoon of May 30th, nearly 124,000 candidates in Hanoi took the Foreign Language exam, which lasted 60 minutes. Parents crowded the area outside the school gate at Kim Lien High School (Kim Lien Ward, Hanoi) while waiting for their children to take the exam. The first candidates emerged from the school gates after completing their English exam this afternoon (May 30th). Many candidates are confident of achieving high scores after completing the second exam this afternoon.
Parents and candidates alike were beaming after the second day of the exam.
The group of students from Chu Van An Secondary School were cheerful and friendly. The Foreign Language exam is in the form of objective multiple-choice questions, with a time limit of 60 minutes; there are multiple exam versions in each examination room; the candidates' multiple-choice answer sheets are graded using computer software... The exam consists of questions that are appropriate to the learning objectives of the subject and the goals of the lower secondary level according to the 2018 General Education Program, mainly focusing on the 9th grade lower secondary curriculum.
"I found this year's exam quite a bit harder than last year's. There were many questions I wasn't very sure about, and I hope to get above 9 points," shared Phan Ha Phuong, a student from Chu Van An Secondary School.
"I did well on the exam. I found the questions to be manageable and sufficient for what I had reviewed and studied. I'm confident I'll get over 9 points," shared Dao Minh Thanh, a student from Newton Secondary School. "This year's exam was quite difficult, but I did reasonably well. I think I got 9.25 points, lower than I expected," said Ha Vi, a student from Be Van Dan Secondary School. In contrast to the radiant smiles of other candidates, one candidate shed tears as she was comforted by friends and family after leaving the examination room. Tomorrow morning, May 31st, candidates will continue taking the Mathematics exam, with a time limit of 120 minutes.
