Sharing his thoughts on the Literature exam for the 2026-2027 Hanoi Grade 10 entrance exam, Mr. Nguyen Phi Hung, a Literature teacher at the HOCMAI education system, said that the exam was familiar and created a relaxed atmosphere for candidates before taking the subsequent subjects.

According to teacher Nguyen Phi Hung, this year's Literature exam was very familiar, consisting of two parts: Reading Comprehension (4.0 points) and Writing (6.0 points). The Reading Comprehension section had 5 questions that explored the provided text, while the Writing section required writing a 200-word paragraph (question 1) and a social commentary essay (question 2).

The questions in the exam closely followed the content and learning objectives of the 2018 Literature curriculum. The structure and format of the exam were also similar to the previous year's exam. The requirements in each question were clearly stated. All of these factors greatly facilitated the candidates.

Specifically, in the reading comprehension section, the text is a free verse poem, with familiar questions about identifying the poetic form, finding and explaining the meaning of poetic imagery, and analyzing the effect of rhetorical devices. These questions are all very basic.

The final question is an application question, requiring candidates to clearly state their viewpoint on opinions related to a real-world issue. In their essays, students need to clearly express their own opinions, providing arguments and evidence to clarify and prove their viewpoints. In addition, the presentation should be concise, coherent, and logically sound.

The essay section, which requires analyzing the character's image in a poem, is a familiar type of question. Students need to clearly state the character's characteristics, the distinctive features in the art of character development, and the character's significance to the work and to the reader.

A social commentary essay is a type of essay that discusses a problem that needs solving, raising the issue of building and maintaining meaningful and positive connections in life. The topic is familiar, the essay format is basic, and the instructions are clear. Just follow the structure your teachers have taught, and you can do well on your exam.

In this exam, the differentiation lies in the meticulousness and attention to detail in presentation, the argumentative writing skills, and the ability to subtly and profoundly appreciate the literary work.
