As one of the first candidates to leave the exam room at Tran Duy Hung Secondary School, Linh Dan (a student from Nghia Do Secondary School) assessed this year's exam as good, fresh, and more creative than the practice exams she had taken.

Dan was impressed with the Social Commentary section, which required her to propose solutions regarding cohesion in modern society. She said the most difficult part was controlling the length of her essay, due to the open-ended nature of the exam. "I think I'll get around 8.5 points," Dan said.

Phuong Anh (a student from Archimes High School) shared the same sentiment. She said the exam was good, especially question 4 in the reading comprehension section, which required students to analyze "the children's call to the moon in the last stanza." She spent 110 minutes completing the exam, with 10 minutes left to review. She said the exam effectively differentiated students, giving points to those who excelled in Literature.

On May 30th, the entrance exam for 10th grade in public high schools for the 2026-2027 school year in Hanoi officially took place. The first subject was Literature, with a time limit of 120 minutes.

With an enrollment quota of about 82,600, the percentage of students securing a place is over 56% of the graduating class.

This afternoon at 2 PM, candidates will continue with the Foreign Language exam, with a time limit of 60 minutes.
