Leaders of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), business associations, and representatives of 500 enterprises in 4 provinces and cities: Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hung Yen, and Hai Duong attended the forum.

With the theme “Connecting for mutual development”, at the forum, delegates proposed many solutions to create connections and mutual development such as VEHEC participating in sub-regional connections, proposing that leaders of provinces and cities in the region create favorable conditions to promote the resources of the 4 provinces. Each year, the region needs to organize at least one exchange and trade promotion workshop in a province or city, inviting some representatives of associations of neighboring provinces; striving for raw materials, fuels, materials and products of enterprises in the sub-region to be supplied or cross-consumed in the 4 provinces; promoting trade promotion exchanges with other provinces, cities and countries...

At the business forum, units also participated in displaying booths to promote typical products, OCOP of 4 provinces and cities; products and services of enterprises...

The forum was held to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day (October 13, 2004 - October 13, 2024). This is the first large-scale activity of the Eastern Expressway Sub-regional Business Association. In the coming time, the VEHEC model will be spread and replicated by VCCI in 63 provinces and cities.

VEHEC was formed from an agreement between VCCI and 4 provinces and cities including Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Hung Yen on the basis of the inter-regional expressway axis from Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh.
