"Good hand" at reconciliation

Mr. NNV and Mrs. TTM, a couple in Binh Yen B area (Long Tuyen ward), often quarreled because Mr. V wanted to take back the land "title" that his wife was keeping. One day, Mrs. M could not bear it anymore and sent a petition to the area, reporting her husband's domestic violence.

The Binh Yen B Regional Mediation Team received the application and quickly took action. Ms. Tran Thi Vinh, the Team Leader, and the members discussed and assigned staff to investigate the matter and then organized a mediation session. The parties spoke up and the underlying cause of the conflict between the couple who had lived together for more than 30 years was revealed to be due to "outsiders". That was a young man who often came to Mr. V's house to invite him to drink. The couple had a daughter so she did not want strangers hanging around the house. In addition, Mr. V had previously mortgaged the red book, so after Mrs. M redeemed it, she did not return it to her husband. After being persuaded by the mediation team, the husband pledged to focus on business, and the wife agreed to give the red book to her husband to keep on the condition that she fulfilled her commitment. The stranger realized that he had accidentally caused Mr. V's family to quarrel, so he promised to stop bothering them. After the mediation session, Mr. V and Mrs. M are now more harmonious than before.

The Binh Yen B Regional Mediation Team was honored to receive an award from the People's Committee of Can Tho City (old) in 2024, with the achievement of 8 successful mediation cases, related to many areas of local social life. According to Ms. Tran Thi Vinh, the working principle of the Mediation Team is to handle cases quickly, promptly and with reasonable results. The experience gained is to apply and explain legal regulations to cases in a simple way so that people can understand and apply them easily.

Not only participating in the activities of the Mediation Team, Ms. Vinh also undertakes many other tasks in the locality. In particular, as Head of the Front Work Committee of Binh Yen B area, she connects associations and unions to join forces to promote local construction and development, and care for the lives of residents. The area has more than 700 households. From now until the end of the year, the Front Work Committee of the area continues to propagate the Party and State's policies and laws to the community, contributing to raising awareness of all classes of people, achieving local socio -economic goals. In addition, organizing activities to prepare for the national great unity festival, selecting typical cultural families, paying attention to ensuring the rights of the elderly and taking care of community health...

Bridge of love

For nearly 3 years now, 24 households in difficult circumstances in Binh Duong B area, Long Tuyen ward have regularly received 20-30kg of rice every month, depending on the family size. The households not only remember the kindness of the benefactor but also remember Mr. Trinh Huu Danh, Head of the Regional Front Work Committee - the person who mobilized the benefactor to support hundreds of kilograms of rice every month for the local people.

Mr. Danh said that in the locality, there are business households, doing well, and there are also people working for hire whose lives are still precarious. Therefore, he tries to connect people who have both economic conditions and a charitable heart. The story of Mr. Danh as a bridge and the volunteer work of local philanthropists has also been praised and rewarded by the city for social charity work, contributing to spreading the spirit of mutual love in the community.

Since 1995, Mr. Danh has participated in many fields of work in the locality; since 2011, he has held the position of Head of the Regional Front Work Committee. In any role, he has always focused on taking care of people's lives, improving the green and clean landscape, and ensuring local security and order. In particular, in social charity work, he mobilized the joint efforts of the people, calling for contributions from organizations and individuals.

Recently, Mr. Danh and members of the Regional Front Work Committee have implemented many good models, contributing to urban beautification. Recently, the project of installing lighting in the Rach Mieu Ong area with a length of nearly 2km. Previously, this route also had street lights installed on one side but the lighting was not enough, the local Front Work Committee mobilized people to contribute, and called for more to compensate for the shortage of poor households. Another model is to repair and expand the road in the inter-group section 16-17 in the area. The 800m long road, more than 1m wide, was expanded to 2.5m and was also completed in June this year, helping people travel more conveniently. The Regional Front Work Committee also deployed the project of installing security cameras on the route from Mieu Ong market to Bong Vang because the previously installed cameras were damaged and reduced in efficiency.

Mrs. Tran Thi Vinh and Mr. Trinh Huu Danh have both been involved in local work for the past 30 years and have been honored to receive many awards at all levels. For them, the greatest joy is to receive the love and trust of the local people.
