The workshop was organized to summarize, evaluate results, share lessons learned and discuss directions for the next phase, as well as promote cooperation between Agriterra and partners to develop modern, effective and sustainable cooperatives. Agriterra is an international non-profit organization established by the Dutch Farmers and Cooperatives Association, with the goal of promoting collective economic development and professionalizing cooperative activities in developing countries and is funded by the Dutch Government's annual operating budget. In Vietnam, since 2017, Agriterra has accompanied more than 60 cooperatives, 16 Cooperative Alliances and Farmers' Associations in provinces and cities to implement many support programs and activities to help bring benefits to about 80,000 farmers. Notably, Agriterra has coordinated with ministries, departments, branches, cooperative alliances at all levels and many international organizations to implement the FFT Program for the period 2021-2025. The program focuses on improving governance capacity, business development, financial access, digital transformation, climate change adaptation, and enhancing the role of women and youth in cooperatives. FFT has helped bring many practical benefits and efficiencies to farmers and cooperatives, contributing to improving the professionalism of 35 agricultural cooperatives, supporting tens of thousands of farmers to access markets, services, and sustainable development models...

At the workshop, along with evaluating the results and lessons learned from the program, representatives of many cooperatives shared the actual results of their cooperatives when participating in FFT. Many cooperatives said that the revenue and profits of farmers in the cooperatives increased significantly, the cooperatives operated more professionally, expanded the scale of production and business, developed a variety of processed products and could export to international markets. Many delegates recommended that Agriterra continue to organize more programs and activities to support agricultural cooperatives in the coming time.

According to Ms. Cao Xuan Thu Van, President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, the Farmer-Centered Transformation Program initiated and implemented by Agriterra in Vietnam has become an important milestone in the process of cooperation in developing the collective economic sector and cooperatives, contributing to implementing the Party and State's policy on innovation, consolidation and improving the operational efficiency of agricultural cooperatives. The Program's activities such as training cooperative staff, enhancing the role of women and youth, supporting access to capital, and improving the capacity to provide sustainable services have helped many cooperatives truly become a solid support for farmers and the core of sustainable agricultural development in the locality...
