Heat from the final night "first time in fireworks history"

The final night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2025, organized by the People's Committee of Da Nang City in coordination with Sun Group - the main sponsor and co-organizer, witnessed an eye-catching competition between two fireworks teams: Z121 Vina Pyrotech - a unit under the Ministry of National Defense representing Vietnam and Jiangxi Yangfeng team from China.

For the first time, the host team Vietnam has entered the final round, and their opponent is the current runner-up of DIFF 2024 with the desire to achieve the highest position, has won the continuous admiration of the audience since the qualifying round. Along with that is the appearance of a series of stars such as singers Tung Duong, My Tam, Huong Tram... in the art performances. All of this, along with the eye-catching effects from previous fireworks nights, has made Da Nang tourism hotter than ever on the occasion of the final night of DIFF 2025.

According to records, tickets to the final match were sold out many days ago. Right from noon on May 12, despite the hot weather in Da Nang, many locals and tourists flocked to beautiful locations on the banks of the Han River (along Tran Hung Dao Street) to spread out tarps and set up umbrellas to "reserve" spots to watch the fireworks.

At 5 p.m. on July 12, the roads leading to the fireworks stage were packed. On both banks of the Han River and on the bridges, the fireworks audience was packed. Lucky guests with tickets to the fireworks had filled the stands an hour before the show started.

Statistical reports show that during the finals alone, the number of guests served by accommodation establishments in Da Nang reached nearly 98,000, an increase of 6.4% over the same period in 2024, of which international guests increased by 81% and domestic guests increased by 18% over the same period. Hotels in coastal areas and the city center were almost fully booked with a capacity of nearly 100%. As of July 11, 2025, the number of tickets to watch fireworks on Han River cruise ships on the final night reached 90% capacity.

Da Nang International Airport has welcomed a total of domestic and international flights that exceeded the record of 2024. If before the final night of DIFF 2024, the Han River city welcomed 159 flights, an increase of 30-40% compared to weekdays, then in DIFF 2025, this number reached 171 flights on July 11, an increase of 40% compared to the first 6 months of 2025. These numbers have demonstrated the unceasing attraction of the Da Nang Fireworks Festival over the years.

Vietnam and China both deserve to be champions.

It is difficult to make a decision for the DIFF 2025 championship - that is what all the judges of the final night commented and the audience also completely agreed. If China stands out with its methodical, multi-layered and magnificent international orchestra, Vietnam makes a strong impression with its emotional, subtle storytelling and connection to national identity.

The home fireworks team Z121 Vina Pyrotech with 7,000 fireworks, along with songs specially selected to express the aspiration to rise in peace and stability of the Vietnamese people, showed that Vietnamese fireworks are not inferior to any fireworks powerhouse.

At the beginning of the performance, the Z121 team took the audience into a space filled with sound and color. Lively melodies such as “Centuries” and “Fireworks” combined with horizontal fireworks effects, spiral fireworks, and multi-layered cluster fireworks, recreating the vibrant, modern, and energetic pace of life in Da Nang city today.

The festival atmosphere was pushed to its climax when the heroic song “Hảo khí Việt Nam” resounded, followed by a performance of red and yellow like the national flag fluttering in the night sky. The rhythm then calmed down, became gentler with the melody of “The Nights”, combined with green and purple fireworks that shot high, fell lightly and swirled softly. Then, thousands of spectators could not help but get goosebumps when the sound of “Thirst for Peace” rose amidst the fireworks that simultaneously covered the sky. The effect of flowers blooming in the air and exploding on the water made the Han River seem to be choked with light and emotion.

Musician Nguyen Duc Trinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association and member of the Jury, shared: “It is the first time that Vietnam has participated in the final round, which makes everyone emotional. Even though it is the first time, the home team has performed no less than the fireworks powerhouse.”

Z121 not only delivered a top-notch technical performance, but also made a proud declaration of a Vietnam that loves peace, aspires to development, and is always ready to contribute to a more stable and brighter world.

Meanwhile, Jiangxi Yangfeng asserted its power as a world fireworks powerhouse with the performance “Da Nang: Shining Pearl, Future City”, with its versatile lighting effects, perfectly combined with 10 multi-color music pieces. The team’s performance opened with the song “The Final Countdown” combined with the symmetrical circular fireworks effect, opening up the feeling of a gateway to the future.

The middle part is a series of effects that move to the rhythm of “Trying All” and “Legacy of Six” – where the swirling fireworks, linear falling fireworks combined with electronic music bring a space like entering the world of technology. In particular, the Chinese team created a surprise when integrating the Vietnamese song “Bac Bling” into the vibrant fireworks display, synchronized with the series of mid- and low-level sweeping fireworks running across the water surface, creating an effect like a dance of light connecting the two cultures.

The finale of “Mountain Call” resounded amidst a backdrop of high-altitude fireworks, sparkling with gold and silver combined with continuous glitter fireworks, depicting the image of Da Nang, a shining gem on the map of Asia’s future.

And after extremely difficult moments of making a decision, the Organizing Committee announced that Jiangxi Yangfeng team from China has officially won the DIFF 2025 Champion title, with a prize worth 20,000 USD. The Z121 Vietnam fireworks team won the runner-up prize with a prize worth 10,000 USD.

The captain of the Chinese team emotionally shared: “We feel extremely excited and satisfied, because after many days of effort, the results achieved are truly satisfying. This is a great result and we are truly grateful for that. This award is of special significance, a great source of motivation for us to continue our efforts in the next DIFF seasons, as well as in our journey of pursuing and creating fireworks art.”

DIFF 2025 also witnessed impressive and creative performances from all competing teams, with quality that was considered superior to previous years. Therefore, in addition to the Champion and Runner-up prizes; the DIFF 2025 Organizing Committee also honored 3 competing teams with 3 important award categories, each worth 5,000 USD.

Accordingly, the “Creativity” Award was given to the Macedos Pirotecnia team - Portugal; the Da Nang fireworks team, Vietnam received the “Most Favorite Audience” award and the Martarello Group SLR fireworks team representing Italy received the “Promising” award.

A concert night of "starry sky"

This year, DIFF 2025 has invested heavily in both scale and artistic quality. In the Final Night alone, the audience was able to meet a "sky of stars". Top names such as Tung Duong, My Tam, Huong Tram, along with hundreds of artists and dancers from famous dance troupes, on a floating stage with elaborate and extremely impressive sound and lighting, made the audience explode.

Brown-haired nightingale My Tam appeared amid the cheers of over 10,000 spectators. And with the song “The Light” composed by herself, the audience understood why she was the factor that caused tickets for the fireworks finale to sell out early.

The return of singer Tung Duong with the song "Hope", conveying the message of faith and aspiration to overcome darkness to reach the light, also made the audience hold their breath at the voice that never ceases to surprise listeners.

Considered the “unknown” of the final show, the singer of “Em gai mua” Huong Tram also surprised the audience with her completely new comeback, through two world-famous love songs “When you believe” and “Never Enough”.

And especially, when Tung Duong and Huong Tram joined forces to sing the song “Hoa Mat Troi”, the audience exploded with emotion. The talented young artist duo Nguyen Tran Trung Quan and Denis Dang were also a breath of fresh air, youthful and full of emotion, with their first performance – the song “Hoa Lien”.

The DIFF 2025 Final is not just a fireworks competition, it is a reunion of stars, a sublime night of art. That is also what makes the Da Nang Fireworks Festival so attractive over the past decade.

With the victory of Jiangxi Yangfeng team from China, DIFF 2025 has ended with the most satisfactory numbers for Da Nang tourism. And with the heat constantly increasing each season, DIFF has increasingly proven that, with the methodical investment, the participation of Sun Group and the efforts of Da Nang authorities, this will not only be a festival, but also an international playground, where any fireworks team in the world would like to participate.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi - Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee said that DIFF in the next 5 years will be invested in a larger scale to become "a new growth engine for the night-time economy, tourism and brand of the city, in line with the vision of developing Da Nang in the direction of green - smart - modern, positioning the city's cultural brand on the regional and international map".
