This season, Dalot's form hasn't been very convincing. Under coach Ruben Amorim, the Portuguese international has frequently been forced to play an unfamiliar wing-back role, and at times even pushed forward like a winger. This change in position and playing style has prevented Dalot from showing his best form.
After manager Amorim was sacked and Michael Carrick took over, Dalot's form improved somewhat when he returned to his preferred right-back position. However, he still hasn't completely reassured the fans or the coaching staff.
Nevertheless, the British press reports that the MU management still highly values Dalot's abilities and experience. However, a contract extension with a higher salary could lead the club to consider selling the player at the end of the season.

Should Dalot leave Old Trafford, Real Madrid is considered a potential destination. The Spanish giants are considering long-term options for the right-back position, especially with the future of captain Daniel Carvajal still uncertain.
Real Madrid have been interested in Dalot for years, although they have never made an official offer. If they decide to make a major overhaul on the right flank, Carvajal's departure to make way for a younger signing is entirely possible. In that case, Dalot would be one of the options considered.
Meanwhile, MU may consider selling Dalot if they receive a suitable offer. Transfermarkt values Dalot at €28 million. The Red Devils also have a right-back capable of being a starter in place of Dalot: Noussair Mazraoui.
With Manchester United continuing to rebuild their squad and aiming for long-term stability, Dalot's future will likely be decided by the end of the season. His performances in the final stages of the season will therefore play a crucial role.
