According to historical documents, Phuc Linh Temple is a place to worship military general Ha Chuong of the Tran Dynasty - who had the merit of fighting the Yuan-Mongol invaders to protect the country.
The temple was built on a high mountain top - a prime location with a wide view, overlooking Nhuoc Son temple, Chau Que commune - the burial place of general Ha Chuong.
Phuc Linh Temple historical relic was recognized as a provincial historical relic by the People's Committee of Yen Bai province (old) in 2013.

Initially, the temple was built of wood, with 5 compartments and a tiled roof, but after the fire that occurred in early 2024, the temple was rebuilt on the old foundation.
Currently, the road to the temple has been concreted; most of the items have been renovated and built spaciously. The temple has become a place of cultural and religious activities for many local people and tourists from all over.
Every full moon and new moon day, I go to the temple to burn incense and pray for peace, prosperity and success for my family and my children. This has been an indispensable part of the spiritual life of my family and many people in the area for many years.
The annual festivals at Phuc Linh Temple are also valuable intangible heritages, reflecting the rich spiritual life of the local people, such as: Mother Goddess worshiping ceremony in the third lunar month, "Triet" insect worshiping ceremony on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, Ha Dien festival on the 1st day of the 6th lunar month, the ceremony to pardon the dead on the 15th day of the 7th lunar month, the ceremony to celebrate Saint Tran Hung Dao on the 20th day of the 8th lunar month, the death anniversary of General Ha Chuong on the 20th day of the 9th lunar month, the new rice celebration on the 10th day of the 10th lunar month and the forest closing ceremony on the 25th day of the 12th lunar month...

The festivals are not only purely rituals but also organize many rich activities, such as: culinary competitions, ethnic sports ; art performances and campfires, thereby creating an attractive community cultural space for visitors to experience.

Ms. Hoang Thi Nga, the head of Phuc Linh temple - who has been attached to the temple since the first days of its establishment, affirmed that Phuc Linh temple is very sacred, so every year it attracts tens of thousands of visitors from all over the country to come here to offer incense, worship, and place offerings. The temple has a spacious, airy space, convenient for organizing large-scale cultural events and festivals.
According to Ms. Nga, the temple area still preserves relics remaining from the war of national defense such as the Elephant's Foot rock, the stone wall, the ancient well... These are concrete evidences of the struggle to defend the country of our ancestors, and are also the basis for the beliefs and spiritual beliefs of the people in the area.

Previously, on average, Phuc Khanh Temple welcomed about 20,000 visitors each year, mainly during holidays and festivals. Due to the impact of the fire and the recent reconstruction, in the first 9 months of 2025, this relic site only welcomed about 10,000 visitors. To effectively exploit the value of the Phuc Linh Temple Historical Relic, the locality is focusing on investing in renovating the project.

With its unique historical and cultural values, Phuc Linh Temple has a great opportunity to develop into an attractive spiritual tourist destination and bring interesting cultural experiences to locals and visitors. It is important to preserve intact traditional rituals and festivals, while investing in infrastructure and developing services appropriately. When the balance between heritage preservation and economic development is achieved, Phuc Linh Temple will not only have spiritual appeal but can also become an economic spearhead, contributing to improving the lives of local people.
