Vuon Chuoi archaeological site proposed to be ranked as a national relic

NDO - The Department of Culture and Sports has just issued Document No. 252/TTr-SVHTT to the Hanoi People's Committee regarding the policy of building a scientific dossier to propose ranking the national relic Vuon Chuoi archaeological site, Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district, Hanoi city.

Emphasizing the need to rank the Vuon Chuoi archaeological site as a relic, the document stated: Excavation results to date have determined that the Vuon Chuoi archaeological site is a complex of relics belonging to the residential-burial type, with at least three cultural layers continuously developing from the Dong Dau-Go Mun-Dong Son period (dating back about 3,500-2,000 years ago).

Through excavations, many important historical evidences have been discovered to help with historical research, especially Prehistoric archaeology in the Red River Delta region.

Each excavation brings new results and documents of special value and rarity to help with regional archaeological research, contributing to clarifying the prehistoric history of Hanoi .

Regarding the reason for the proposal and recommendation to approve the policy of building a scientific dossier to propose the national ranking of Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic, the document stated: Based on a careful review of the special, rare and typical value of the relic compared to similar relics in terms of value, scale and age across the country that have been ranked as national relics, specifically the relics: Dong Dau archaeological site, Yen Lac town, Yen Lac district, Vinh Phuc province (ranked in 2000); Dong Son archaeological site (Dong Son ancient village), Ham Rong ward, Thanh Hoa city (ranked in 1962); Phung Nguyen archaeological site (Phung Nguyen village), Phung Nguyen commune, Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province (ranked in 2009), ... as well as the Vuon Chuoi archaeological site is completely worthy and timely.

Specific protected area: total area of ​​protected areas (protected area I and protected area II) is about: 7,698.3m 2 ; including 2 protected areas I and protected area II, specifically:

Protection area I, includes 2 measurement areas: Measurement area 1 east of road 3.5 with an area of ​​about 5,030.3m2 , boundary markers from 1.2 to 12.1; Measurement area 2 west of road 3.5 with an area of ​​about 670m2 , boundary markers from 13.14 to 17.13.

Protection area II east of road 3.5 about 1998.0m2 , boundary from 2.18 to 21.11 to 3.2.

In the process of implementing the next steps after the policy is approved, the agency that builds the scientific dossier is responsible for reviewing and specifically determining the scope and area of ​​the protected areas, or adjusting them to suit the reality and approved land and construction related planning, ensuring compliance with current relevant legal regulations.
