After the country was reunified, research, collection, and preservation of relics related to President Ho Chi Minh were carried out extensively, reflecting the affection and sense of responsibility of the entire nation.
The Ho Chi Minh Museum and Memorial Site System is a special museum-heritage institution within Vietnam's national museum network. Currently, the system comprises 14 member units located in various regions of the country. Each unit is an important link, reflecting the spatial periods and ideological, ethical, and cultural values of President Ho Chi Minh.
In Hue , where he lived and studied for about 10 years, the exhibition hall dedicated to the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh was established in Hue in 1979.
In 1980, the Ho Chi Minh Museum of Binh Tri Thien was officially established. In 1982, the museum officially joined the national system of museums and memorial sites dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh, becoming an important member of the network of museums and memorial sites related to him. From 2025 onwards, the museum will be called the Ho Chi Minh Museum of Hue City.

Over the past 45 years, the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City has continuously innovated in terms of content and exhibition methods. Spaces are arranged according to clear themes, utilizing various artistic elements, sound, and digital technology to enhance interactivity.
Hue City has a large number of historical sites associated with President Ho Chi Minh compared to other localities nationwide, with nearly 20 sites and landmarks related to him.
In particular, the system of Ho Chi Minh relics in Hue, comprising four main sites – the Memorial House at 112 Mai Thuc Loan Street, the Memorial House in Duong No Village, the Duong No Village Communal House, and Hue National High School – was classified as a Special National Monument by the Prime Minister in 2020.

This affirms the outstanding value of this system of historical sites, not only for the locality but also for the history and culture of the nation. At the same time, it opens up great opportunities for the management, preservation, and promotion of the value of these sites, with the Ho Chi Minh Museum playing a central role in connecting and disseminating the heritage's value.
Ms. Le Thuy Chi, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City, said: From the early days of difficulties in terms of facilities and personnel, museum staff and researchers persevered in restoring relics, collecting and preserving artifacts, gradually forming a vibrant exhibition system about President Ho Chi Minh's youth in Hue.
Today, the system of historical sites and museums has become an important "red address," attracting researchers, veterans, students, and tourists. Exhibitions, educational activities, and cultural collaborations spread the ideological, moral, and stylistic values of Ho Chi Minh into community life.

According to Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City, in the city's development orientation in the spirit of Resolution 54-NQ/TW - building Hue into a distinctive heritage city of Vietnam, the system of heritage related to President Ho Chi Minh is identified as an inseparable component.
The local cultural sector has always paid special attention to the preservation and promotion of the legacy related to President Ho Chi Minh, considering it a central, ongoing task with profound political and cultural significance.
The Department of Culture and Sports will continue to pay attention to and provide maximum support to the Museum to affirm its role as a center for preserving and disseminating the heritage values related to President Ho Chi Minh; linking conservation activities with innovation, application of digital technology, sustainable cultural tourism development, and international integration.
"We believe that promoting the heritage values related to President Ho Chi Minh is not only a moral responsibility but also contributes to building the soft power, image, and cultural brand of Hue city in the new development phase," Mr. Phan Thanh Hai emphasized.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Hue City also decided to award a Certificate of Commendation to the collective of officials and staff of the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City.
