For the past 45 years, Giao Toan beef noodle shop owned by Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh's family (45 years old) has been a familiar destination for many people in Ho Chi Minh City. Many people say that the shop is as big as a market, and the owner sells nearly 1 ton of beef every day because it is always crowded with customers.

The beef noodle shop is located on Highway 1K, Linh Xuan Ward (old Thu Duc City). The restaurant was opened by Mr. Thinh's family in 1980, now it has been 45 years old. From a small restaurant with 7-8 plastic tables, it has gradually developed into a large restaurant like today.

Mr. Thinh's father, Toan, used to be a teacher at a school in Linh Xuan. That's why the restaurant is called Giao Toan beef noodle soup. Mr. Toan's wife used to sell drinks along the national highway. Seeing that there were few restaurants here but the demand for food and drink was high, she and her husband tried selling beef noodle soup, and eventually it was supported by many customers.

The owner confided that his age is the same as the restaurant's age. He has been attached to this place since he was a little kid, so he has great affection for it. The man is happy and proud to have followed his parents' footsteps and maintaining the restaurant for more than 10 years, with the same recipes and cooking methods as before.

4. Famous Vietnamese beef noodle soup

O Tam beef noodle soup, better known as Vietnamese beef noodle soup, is famous in Tan Binh ward (ward 13, old Tan Binh district). The delicious beef noodle soup is cooked by Mrs. Tam, a Vietnamese expatriate who returned home after 40 years living in Laos. The owner is from Hue, so the beef noodle soup is seasoned richly, selling hundreds of bowls every day.

According to the restaurant owner, the flavor of her mother's beef noodle soup was brought to Laos by Mrs. Tam for 40 years and now brought to Ho Chi Minh City. The restaurant owner shared that the original Hue beef noodle soup is salty and spicy, so to suit the taste of Lao and Saigon people, Hue shrimp paste is reduced and the sweetness is added a little more.
