The benchmark for the public relations major at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, continuously confirms the peak in the C00 group (literature, history, geography).
In 2022, the benchmark score for this industry reached a peak of 29.95 points, meaning candidates must score an average of nearly 9.99 points per subject to have a chance of being admitted.
In 2023, the benchmark score will decrease to 28.75 points in 2023 and increase to 29.1 points in 2024 due to adjustments in the calculation of priority points.
With the D01 group (math, literature, English), the standard score will increase from 26.75 points in 2022 to 26.45 points in 2024.
At the Academy of Journalism and Communication, the benchmark for public relations maintains the highest benchmark nationwide, on a 40-point scale.
Public relations majors, specializing in industrial relations (40-point scale) continuously maintain extremely high scores from 35 to 38 points.
Public relations, majoring in marketing communications (40-point scale) also has a very high benchmark score, ranging from 35.82 to 37.38 (group D78) in 3 years.
Many other major universities also maintain high scores for this subject.
The National Economics University (NEU), famous for training in economics and management, is no exception to this trend. The benchmark score for public relations here is 28.6 points (2022), slightly decreased to 27.2 (2023) and then increased again to 28.18 (2024), applied to the D01 and A01 groups. Although the fluctuation is not large, this is still a high score compared to the general level.
In addition to top schools, some other training institutions also recorded an upward trend in scores during the admission season. For example, the Vietnam Youth Academy raised its benchmark score from 24 points (2023) to 27.5 points (2024), a remarkably strong increase.
In the Central region, the University of Education, Danang University has a score of 25.33 for the groups C00, D01, D14, D15, showing that the public relations industry is gradually asserting its position in this region.
Although the benchmark scores at top schools are very high, many universities in other provinces, cities or non-public schools still have more “affordable” scores. These include Van Lang University, Gia Dinh University, Hong Bang International University, Hoa Sen University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, etc.
This creates opportunities for candidates with good academic performance to still pursue public relations, as long as they have passion and initiative in practicing practical skills.
The public relations industry is expected to continue to be hot in the 2025 admissions season. The demand for professional PR personnel, capable of building and protecting brands, managing media crises, and connecting with the public will continue to increase sharply.
