Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics leads Vietnam in world university rankings

(NLDO) - Among the 11 Vietnamese representatives named in the THE 2026 rankings, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics continues to hold the highest position.

The Times Higher Education (THE) ranking organization has just announced the results of the 2026 world university rankings (THE World University Rankings 2026) with the participation of nearly 2,200 higher education institutions from 115 countries and territories. This is the year with a record high number of participating educational institutions.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics has many impressive achievements on international university rankings.

Among the 11 Vietnamese representatives in the THE 2026 rankings, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics continues to hold the highest position, ranked in the 501-600 group of world universities (maintaining last year's ranking).

In the ranking of top universities in Asia in 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics is also the Vietnamese representative with the highest rank (ranked 136), followed by Ton Duc Thang University (top 201-250), Duy Tan University (top 251-300).

With consecutive impressive achievements in the past 2 years, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics has more motivation and basis to implement important strategic projects in the period 2025-2030, including: project "Improving the quality of UEH staff - Top 250 Asia"; project "Building an international academic ecosystem at UEH"; project "Enhancing scientific research capacity, international publication, technology transfer and product commercialization",...

The university's goal is to become a multidisciplinary, multi-field and sustainable university, among the top 250 universities in Asia by 2030, reaching the top 100 in Asia by 2045.

THE is one of the largest ranking organizations in the world today. The conditions for schools are that they must teach at the undergraduate level, conduct research in many fields and have at least 1,000 published studies, from 2020 to 2024.

THE has 18 evaluation criteria, divided into 5 groups, including: teaching, research environment, research quality, technology transfer, and internationalization level.
