Speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong highly appreciated the learning, research and training capacity of the valedictorians; at the same time, he said that most of the valedictorians were recruited by agencies and enterprises immediately after graduation and initially promoted their strengths and capacities at each unit.
After the administrative reorganization, Ho Chi Minh City has more than 700,000 high school students and more than 650,000 university, academy and college students. In its development strategy, the city identifies science and technology, innovation and high-quality human resources as key driving forces.

City leaders pledged to continue improving mechanisms and policies to attract and reward talent; creating a favorable environment for valedictorians to contribute long-term. Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong hopes that the young generation will become a pioneering force contributing to socio-economic development goals, especially in the field of science and technology.
Mr. Cuong suggested that the valedictorians turn knowledge into practical action, promote their mettle and creativity to turn ideas into products, start-ups into economic projects; whether working domestically or internationally, in the public or private sector, always maintain a pioneering spirit, responsibility and loyalty.
To continue discovering and nurturing talents, the City leaders proposed that the City Youth Union and the City Student Association innovate the movements "3 Good Students" and "5 Good Students", creating a favorable environment for students to realize their initiatives.

This year’s program honored 88 valedictorians, including 40 admitted valedictorians and 48 graduating valedictorians. Of these, 2 valedictorians achieved a perfect score of 30/30 and 3 graduating valedictorians achieved a perfect score of 4/4. Many valedictorians have won science awards, “5 Good Students” awards, January Star awards, participated in scientific research, international student exchanges and written scientific articles.
After 12 years of implementation, the program has honored a total of 917 outstanding new students and graduates, becoming a meaningful annual activity of Ho Chi Minh City in honoring and encouraging young talents.
