"The admission scores for each industry, if there is any increase or decrease, will be within the range of 0.5 - 1 point compared to 2023," said Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung.
The above prediction was made based on the analysis of the 2024 high school graduation exam score distribution announced by the Ministry of Education and Training and the number of candidates taking the exam this year.
Specifically, based on the analysis of the 2024 high school graduation exam score distribution announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, it can be seen that the results of the 2024 exam are quite stable compared to previous years. The Literature score is assessed to be generally higher than in 2024, but the Math score tends to be lower.
Therefore, in general, the average score of the D group (Math, Literature, Foreign Language) - the group for admission to all training programs of Hanoi University is relatively stable. In addition, according to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, the number of candidates taking the exam this year only increased slightly (about 4.5%) compared to 2023.
"From these factors, it can be predicted that the admission scores for the school's majors will not fluctuate much compared to last year," said Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung.
According to Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, the training majors of Hanoi University have high social demand and are in the group with high entrance scores, so candidates must have an average score of each subject in the high school graduation exam of 7.5 points or higher to have a chance to be admitted to the school. In 2023, the admission score of most majors of the school was from 30.95 points (on a scale of 40, Foreign Language subject doubled) or higher.
For some hot majors such as English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Marketing, Information Technology, Multimedia Communications..., candidates must have an average score of 8.5 - 9 or higher in each subject to ensure admission.
“The entrance scores of these majors are expected to remain stable at a high level, around 34-36 points on a 40-point scale or 24-26 points on a 30-point scale for Information Technology and Multimedia. In particular, the Korean Language major (the major with the highest entrance score at Hanoi University in 2023) may increase,” said Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung.
At 5:00 p.m. on July 30, candidates will finish registering, adjusting, and adding their university admission wishes for 2024. To maximize their chances of being admitted to universities, including Hanoi University, Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung noted that candidates should not wait until the deadline to register their wishes to prevent possible technical problems.
Before registering their wishes, candidates need to carefully research information about the major they wish to study: training school, benchmark scores in the past 3 years, enrollment quotas according to methods, job opportunities, training goals of each school... to have the most reasonable choice.
“When registering your wishes on the system, candidates should write down their plans on paper to avoid unnecessary confusion or errors. And after registering your wishes, remember the deadline for paying the admission fee according to regulations, and regularly check your email to ensure that you do not lose necessary information,” Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung advised candidates.
In 2024, Hanoi University will maintain the same admission method as previous years. Specifically, the school will apply 3 admission methods including: Direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (5% of total enrollment target), Combined admission according to the school's regulations (45% of total enrollment target) and Admission based on 2024 high school graduation exam scores (50% of total enrollment target).
This year, Hanoi University does not enroll in high-quality programs like previous years. The school has opened a new major in Financial Technology and has 5 more advanced training programs in the following majors: English Language, Chinese Language, Italian Language, Information Technology, Tourism and Travel Services Management.
Hanoi University maintains two stable admission combinations. The first is the combination of subjects in block A1 (Math, Physics, English) to consider admission to some majors such as Information Technology, Multimedia Communications. The second - also the most popular admission group of the school - is block D (Math, Literature, Foreign Language). Foreign Language includes all popular foreign languages today, permitted by the Ministry of Education and Training to be implemented in admission work such as: English, French, Chinese, Korean, German,...
According to Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, with the university having a tradition of foreign language training and all specialized training programs are conducted in foreign languages in teaching, testing and evaluation, one of the entrance requirements for candidates is to have good foreign language proficiency. Foreign language scores can be demonstrated through international foreign language proficiency certificates that candidates have.
Hanoi University currently accepts 21 different types of foreign language proficiency certificates for all languages taught at the school, from popular languages such as English, French, Chinese, Japanese to Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, all with corresponding certificates. The school also accepts certificates of computer-based foreign language proficiency tests according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
In addition, candidates who apply for admission based on high school graduation exam scores can demonstrate their foreign language proficiency with their English graduation exam scores.
