Physical health, mental strength
In the late afternoon, as the noise of machinery in the factory gradually subsided, the atmosphere at the multi-purpose hall of Fuyu Precision Technology Co., Ltd. in Quang Chau Industrial Park became lively again. On the badminton court, groups of workers competed amidst cheers and applause; in another corner, basketball and billiards matches followed one another. After hours of strenuous work, this was the time for employees to exercise and improve their physical fitness.

Samsung Group's businesses pay special attention to providing psychological counseling and mental health care for their workers. |
For many years, these activities have been systematically organized and regularly maintained by the trade union in coordination with the enterprise. From internal sports competitions, the "Tet Reunion" program, activities for workers' children to legal and psychological counseling, all create a rich spiritual space. "After work, playing sports and participating in activities with colleagues helps improve my health and makes me feel more relaxed," said Mr. La Van Duc, a worker in the assembly department.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Vi, Chairman of the Company's Trade Union, the enterprise is 100% Taiwanese (China) invested. Therefore, the Trade Union always proactively organizes events that incorporate Vietnamese culture to increase understanding and connection between Vietnamese and foreign workers. This creates a friendly working environment and builds harmonious and progressive labor relations.
| Programs such as "Singing for Workers - Listening to Workers Sing," men's and women's football tournaments, the graceful ao dai contest for female union members, folk dance competitions, and artistic flower arranging contests, which are held annually, have become cultural gathering points for a large number of workers. |
At Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. (SEV), Yen Phong 1 Industrial Park, activities are organized on a large and diverse scale. Sports days, internal festivals, "Family Day" programs, and company trips have become opportunities for workers and their families to bond.
Ms. Doan Thi Ngat, a technical worker, shared: “The family trips organized by the company help us spend time with our loved ones and reduce work stress. We clearly feel the company's care, so most of us want to stay with them long-term.”
In particular, SEV also implements in-depth mental health care models such as comprehensive psychological surveys, internal support groups, thematic seminars, etc. With "Gate Keeper" groups - a force trained in early identification of signs of stress and pressure - mental health surveys are implemented for 100% of employees, detecting and supporting cases of psychological problems in a timely manner.
Create connection
In reality, due to the nature of long working hours and shift work, employees have limited opportunities to participate in recreational activities. Many are far from home and live in communal living conditions in rented accommodations, further contributing to a monotonous spiritual life. Therefore, organizing cultural activities and developing psychological support programs not only motivates employees but also acts as a "glue" to create cohesion and strengthen labor relations, helping businesses retain their workforce for sustainable development.

Workers in Van Trung Industrial Park participate in cultural and sports activities. |
Many businesses in the province have adopted innovative approaches that suit their specific circumstances. For example, Luxshare-ICT Co., Ltd. has provided sports facilities and regularly organizes cultural and women's activities. Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd. has developed hobby clubs, organized family days, and engaged in charitable activities.
Goertek Vina Co., Ltd. organizes many internal communication programs and cultural events during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year). In many industrial parks such as Yen Phong, Que Vo, VSIP, etc., worker clubs and community spaces are gradually being formed, contributing to improving the spiritual life of workers.
Despite these positive aspects, many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have not paid sufficient attention to, or allocated too little resources to, caring for the cultural and spiritual well-being of their workers. The system of cultural facilities for workers is still lacking, especially in workers' dormitories. Many workers still lack spaces for recreation and entertainment after work. The process of understanding the thoughts and aspirations of workers is also slow in some businesses.
According to Mr. Le Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Union, investing in the cultural and spiritual life of workers is also an investment in the sustainable development of the workforce and businesses. In the coming time, with its role, the Provincial Labor Union will continue to direct grassroots unions to maintain and expand effective activities and models; regularly advise enterprise leaders to provide financial support to the union in organizing healthy and beneficial cultural and sports activities. It will also promptly understand the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers, especially those related to cultural institutions. From there, it will propose to the province to allocate appropriate resources to improve the spiritual life of the workforce.
