The Military Science Academy is the school with the highest minimum score, requiring female candidates to score 23 points and male candidates to score 19 points to be able to apply.

The Military Admissions Board ( Ministry of National Defense ) notes that the above admission score is based on a 30-point scale of admission combinations from the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam and includes incentive points and priority points.
In case candidates have the capacity assessment test scores of Hanoi National University or Ho Chi Minh City National University, they will be converted to a 30-point scale for admission consideration.
The competency assessment test is converted according to the admission combinations of each school, not including incentive points and priority points. The results of the highest converted combination are included in the admission consideration.

Academies and schools enroll students in the Northern region and the Southern region according to administrative boundaries before the merger.
The Border Guard Academy and Army Officer School 2 recruit candidates from the South according to the quota of each military region including: Military Region 4 (candidates with permanent residence in Quang Tri province, Hue city according to administrative boundaries before the merger), Military Region 5, Military Region 7 and Military Region 9.
This year, military schools will recruit about 4,400 students with 3 admission methods, including: Direct admission, priority admission according to the university admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, regulations of the Ministry of National Defense; Considering the scores of the capacity assessment test organized by Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025; Considering the results of the high school graduation exam in 2025. Thus, compared to last year, military schools have abandoned the method of considering high school transcripts.
Regarding the admission combinations, this year military schools use 13 combinations. Schools add bonus points to candidates who have won national, international, and provincial awards for excellent students, students with international language certificates equivalent to 5.5 IELTS, or SAT from 1,068/1,600.
