"A bright spot" in the digital transformation of the education and training sector in Hai Hau.

In order to meet the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program, and in conjunction with efforts to improve the overall quality of education and school management efficiency, Hai Nam Primary School has identified digital transformation as a key focus to innovate educational activities towards a streamlined, modern, and efficient approach, keeping pace with the digitalization trend in education and training.

For many years, the school has proactively applied information technology (IT) to management and teaching, using several management software programs: SMAS software, the industry database (http://csdl.moet.gov.vn); the Ministry of Education and Training's continuous professional development software (http://taphuan.csdl.edu.vn), civil servant evaluation software: ETEP, TEMIS; accounting and financial software: MISA , asset management, tax declaration support; treasury transactions, library management software, timetable creation software; using Zalo and Facebook groups... to communicate information to teachers, staff, and parents. Teachers and staff actively use several software and applications in teaching management such as Elearning, PowerPoint, OLM, Shub classroom, SMAS, Zalo..., achieving initial effectiveness. Thanks to the application of information technology and digital transformation, the school's educational quality has been maintained and is constantly improving.

To ensure effective digital transformation, the school has actively advised local Party committees and authorities, mobilizing resources to invest in and supplement facilities and technological infrastructure. All classrooms, functional rooms, subject departments, and the library are connected to high-speed internet and equipped with computers, projectors, and smart TVs, providing maximum support for digital teaching and online learning when needed. In addition, the school encourages parents to provide students with personal technology devices, creating opportunities for them to access digital resources both at school and at home.

In particular, the use of the Microsoft Office 365 ecosystem as a comprehensive digital management center has greatly assisted the school in its operations, data storage and sharing, and organization of professional activities. All school records, subject department records, records of student organizations, class groups, etc., are digitized and stored on the Microsoft Teams platform. This saves the school time, optimizes storage space, increases flexibility, and enhances data security. As a result, staff and teachers can access, edit, share, and use documents from anywhere, anytime.

The school's management board has encouraged and promoted the active application of information technology (IT) in management and teaching among staff and teachers; at the same time, it has organized training sessions to improve the skills of using technology for all staff and teachers. The school's Digital Transformation Committee regularly organizes training on the use of tools such as PowerPoint, OneNote, Forms, Quizizz, etc., helping teachers confidently apply them to practical teaching. Currently, 100% of the school's teachers can design electronic lesson plans and effectively utilize digital learning resource libraries from reputable platforms such as: https://igiaoduc.vn; https://violet.vn; https://tech12h.com. Each year, each teacher is required to create at least 5 new digital learning materials (E-learning lessons, video lectures, digital teaching equipment, etc.). After creation, the digital learning materials are reviewed by the subject department and approved by the school principal before being uploaded to the shared library on Office 365, creating a rich learning resource bank for the entire school.

In assessment, teachers use tools such as Microsoft Forms, Quizizz, Plickers, etc., to create online multiple-choice tests, making the assessment process quick, accurate, and time-saving for grading, and especially providing an enjoyable experience for students. For Computer Science, organizing periodic tests entirely on digital platforms has become a regular activity, demonstrating the positive shift in the school's student assessment innovation.

A highlight of the digital transformation at Hai Nam Primary School is that it extends beyond teaching and assessment to encompass all aspects of the school's educational administration and management. Professional notebooks such as homeroom teacher notebooks, lesson observation notebooks, and professional development activity logs have been digitized using the OneNote application, synchronized across all devices and operating systems. Since the 2022-2023 school year, teachers and staff have been using OneNote for these purposes, allowing them to create notes, plan, and track student learning outcomes from anywhere, optimizing work processes and improving productivity. Furthermore, the organization of meetings, briefings, thematic activities, and activities of the school's Trade Union and Youth Union also utilize digital tools for internal management and communication. All documents, files, and plans are "digitized," saving printing time and facilitating information sharing and retrieval. This is especially true through the implementation of the system.
The school's digital records, from student and teacher data to financial, administrative, and performance evaluation information, are all being digitized and synchronized. This is a crucial step towards building a "smart school" model as envisioned by the Ministry of Education and Training.

The proactive digital transformation has greatly contributed to innovating teachers' teaching methods and school management, gradually fostering proactive, creative, and modern learning habits in students. Students at the school have become accustomed to accessing information through digital platforms, completing online assignments, and participating in high-tech applied lessons. Thanks to the support of vivid visual tools from digital platforms, students are more enthusiastic about lessons, increasing their ability to absorb and retain knowledge. Lessons in Math, Vietnamese, Natural Sciences, and Social Studies have become much more engaging with videos, images, and interactive presentations. Through this, students not only acquire knowledge but also develop skills in using technology, teamwork, and problem-solving – core skills essential for future digital citizens. Digital transformation at the school also helps increase connections between the school, family, and society. Parents can monitor their children's academic progress and daily lives through the online system, thereby enabling closer collaboration with teachers in their children's education.

The implementation of digital transformation at Hainan Primary School is creating many positive changes, establishing a very cohesive system from management to teaching, enhancing students' creativity and proactive learning; and especially building a solid foundation on the journey of educational innovation in the technological age.
