Information technology application class at Hai Nam Primary School. |
For many years, the school has applied information technology (IT) to management and teaching such as using some software in management: SMAS software, Industry database (http://csdl.moet.gov.vn); regular training software of the Ministry of Education and Training (http://taphuan.csdl.edu.vn), civil servant assessment: ETEP, TEMIS; software for financial accounting: MISA, asset management, tax declaration support; treasury transactions, library management software, preparing timetables using Timetable software; using zalo groups, facebook... to convey information content to teachers, staff, parents. Teachers and staff actively use some software and applications in teaching management such as Elearning, PowerPoint, OLM, Shub classroom, Smas, Zalo..., achieving initial results. Thanks to the application of IT and digital transformation, the school's educational quality is maintained and increasingly improved.
To effectively implement digital transformation, the school has actively advised local authorities and mobilized resources to invest in construction and supplement facilities and technology infrastructure. All classrooms, functional rooms, professional groups, and libraries are connected to high-speed internet, equipped with computers, projectors, and smart TVs, providing maximum support for digital teaching and online learning when needed. In addition, the school also encourages parents to equip students with personal technology devices, creating conditions for them to access digital resources both at school and at home.
In particular, using the Microsoft Office 365 ecosystem as a comprehensive digital management center has greatly helped the school in operating, storing, sharing data and organizing professional activities. All school records, professional group records, records of organizations, class groups, etc. are digitized and stored on the Microsoft Teams platform. This helps the school save time, optimize storage space, increase flexibility and data security. Thanks to that, staff and teachers can access, edit, share and use documents anywhere, anytime.
The school's board of directors has encouraged and promoted the active application of IT in management and teaching among staff and teachers; at the same time, organized training sessions and fostered the skills of using technology for all staff and teachers. The school's digital transformation committee regularly organizes instructions on the use of tools such as PowerPoint, OneNote, Forms, Quizizz, etc. to help teachers confidently apply them in teaching practice. Currently, 100% of the school's teachers can design e-lessons, effectively exploit digital learning material repositories from reputable platforms such as: https://igiaoduc.vn; https://violet.vn; https://tech12h.com. Each year, each teacher is required to create at least 5 new digital learning materials (E-learning lectures, video lectures, digital teaching equipment, etc.). After being reviewed by the professional team and approved by the school principal, the digital learning materials will be uploaded to the shared storage on Office 365, creating a rich learning material bank serving the entire school.
In assessment, teachers use tools such as Microsoft Forms, Quizizz, Plickers... to create online multiple choice tests, helping the testing process to be quick, accurate, save time in grading, and especially bring an interesting experience to students. For the subject of Information Technology, organizing periodic tests entirely on a digital platform has become a regular activity, demonstrating the positive change in the school's innovation in student assessment.
The highlight of the digital transformation process at Hai Nam Primary School does not stop at teaching and assessment, but has expanded to all educational management and operation activities of the school. Professional books such as homeroom books, class observation books, professional activity notebooks, etc. are digitized using the OneNote application synchronized on all devices and operating systems. From the 2022-2023 school year up to now, school staff and teachers have used homeroom books, class observation books, professional activity notebooks, etc. on OneNote, from which teachers can create notes, make plans, and monitor students' learning outcomes from anywhere, creating conditions to optimize work and improve labor productivity. In addition, the organization of meetings, briefings, thematic activities, or activities of the school's Union, Youth Union - Team also applies digital tools in internal management and communication. All documents, papers and plans are “digitized”, helping to save printing time and facilitate information sharing and searching. In particular, through the implementation of the system
School digital records, from student and teacher data, to financial, administrative, competition, and assessment work, are all digitized synchronously. This is an important step towards the goal of building a “smart school” model according to the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Active digital transformation has greatly contributed to innovating teachers' teaching methods and school management methods, gradually forming proactive, creative and modern learning habits for students. Students at the school are familiar with accessing information through digital platforms, doing online exercises, and participating in high-tech application lessons. Thanks to the support of vivid visual tools from digital platforms, students are more excited about their lessons, increasing their ability to absorb and remember knowledge. Math, Vietnamese, Natural Science and Social Science lessons... have become much more vivid with videos, images, and interactive presentations. Thereby, students not only acquire knowledge but also practice their skills in using technology, teamwork and problem solving - the core skills needed for future digital citizens. Digital transformation at school also helps increase the connection between school - family - society. Parents can monitor their children's learning results and daily activities through the online system, thereby coordinating more closely with teachers in educating their children.
The application of digital transformation at Hai Nam Primary School is creating many positive changes, creating a very tight system from management to teaching, enhancing creativity and proactive learning of learners; especially creating a solid foundation on the journey of educational innovation in the technology era.
