The fulcrum of former youth volunteers

Promoting the fine tradition, in recent years, the Phu Tho Association of Former Youth Volunteers has promoted activities of comradeship, cared for all aspects of the lives of its members, and carried out activities towards the roots... in line with the motto "wherever there are former Youth Volunteers, there is an association". This place is also a bridge, helping generations of former Youth Volunteers continue to promote the spirit of volunteering, contributing to the community and society.

The Phu Tho Association of Former Youth Volunteers currently has more than 8,000 members, operating in 65 grassroots associations. Over the years, the Association has actively contributed to protecting the legitimate interests of former Youth Volunteers in the area, helping them overcome difficulties and improve their lives. Associations at all levels have proactively and actively coordinated to guide the preparation of records, verify, appraise and propose to functional agencies to resolve regimes and policies for former Youth Volunteers who have completed their tasks in the resistance war, building and defending the Fatherland. In the first 6 months of the year, the Association has coordinated with functional agencies to complete the records to propose awarding and posthumously awarding the "Glorious Youth Volunteer Medal"; for former Youth Volunteers without original documents, Associations at all levels have coordinated with functional agencies to compare records, based on the list of the Local Policy Council, confirming more than 5,000 certificates of Youth Volunteers completing their tasks during the resistance war.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and the 75th anniversary of the Youth Volunteer Force Tradition Day, many meaningful activities were organized "For the sake of comradeship" to honor the members, the Association received and presented more than 800 gifts worth nearly 400 million VND to members, celebrated the longevity of more than 600 members, coordinated with units to organize free medical examination and treatment for more than 1,100 members. The Association at all levels organized for members to visit the old battlefield, visit the historical site of the Youth Volunteer Force Monument - where the first Youth Volunteer Force of Vietnam was established; visit the Vi Xuyen martyrs' cemetery...

In addition, the movement "Former Youth Volunteers help each other to do good business for the sake of comradeship" has been implemented in many diverse, practical and effective forms, creating conditions for former Youth Volunteers to be dynamic, creative and bold in applying scientific and technological advances to caring for livestock and crops; developing production, commodity and service economy, enriching themselves and their families; and at the same time having conditions to help their comrades develop the economy. Through that, many typical and advanced collectives and individuals have emerged, daring to think, daring to do, effectively implementing the Party's policies and guidelines and the State's laws and policies. Typical members include: Tran Ngoc Tue in Phu My commune; Tran Duc Bao in Bang Luan commune; Trinh Van Thien in Hien Luong commune; Vu Ngoc Doan in Thanh Mieu ward; Pham Thi Hoa in Hoang Cuong commune...

In addition, grassroots organizations also maintain the “Comradely Love” fund to help members in difficult circumstances to escape poverty sustainably. Some grassroots organizations have implemented piggy banks and savings to increase the fund, helping members have capital to develop the economy and stabilize their lives.

The meaningful and effective activities "For the sake of comradeship" of the association organizations and members encourage the spirit of former Youth Volunteers, so that they can promote the spirit of "Youthful and exemplary in old age", and encourage their children and grandchildren to actively study, work and produce to contribute to building their homeland.
