Ngo Hong Bao Han (2012), an 8th grade student at Nguyen Van Linh Secondary School, Da Nang City, currently lives with her parents and brother in Cam Le Ward. Her family is in a particularly difficult situation as both her father and brother are seriously ill.

Han's brother was born with cerebral palsy and was completely dependent on his mother for all his daily activities, while the cost of medication was very expensive. Disaster struck suddenly when her father was unfortunately involved in a traffic accident, resulting in total paralysis and having to use a wheelchair. He also suffered from hip necrosis and mitral valve regurgitation, but due to difficult economic conditions, he had to live with the disease.

All the burden now falls on the shoulders of Ms. Vu Thi Hong Le (1973) - Bao Han's mother. Every day, she works as a waitress at a pho restaurant from 2pm to 11pm, earning 220,000 VND/day. Recently, she opened a small noodle shop in the morning to earn more income.

The family has no house and has to pay nearly 3 million VND per month for rent. With economic difficulties, Le still tries to go to work, rain or shine or when she is sick, because she is the sole breadwinner of the family, the support for her husband and two children.

Bao Han is a sensible girl. After school, she often helps her mother take care of her father and brother. Thanks to that, her mother feels more secure when she has to work late at night. Han loves writing, especially literature, and has always cherished the dream of becoming a journalist in the future.

Sharing on the show, Han burst into tears and said that if she became a journalist, she would write about her own family's story, about her mother's efforts as well as her father's will to never give up. However, she was afraid that because of her family's circumstances, she would not be able to continue studying to have a stable job to take care of her family.

Bao Han's tragic situation left many people unable to hold back their tears. Actor Ma Ran Do was moved to share his sorrow when witnessing a 14-year-old girl having to shoulder so much, having to both study and help her mother take care of her father and brother.

Choking emotions filled the show as the three artists and the audience listened to the journey of overcoming difficulties of little Bao Han, a dutiful daughter in a poor family.

MC Dai Nghia continuously sent words of encouragement to Han's family. He especially encouraged the father to stay strong, because even though he is no longer able to work, he is still an important spiritual support for the whole family. The male MC also expressed his admiration for the extraordinary willpower of Ms. Le, the mother who silently shouldered all the difficulties to take care of her husband and children.

Another situation that touched many people was Le Thi Quynh Nhu (2012), currently a 7th grade student at Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School. She lives with her parents and older sister in Phu Ninh commune, Da Nang city (Phu Ninh district, former Quang Nam province).

Quynh Nhu’s father, Le Van Nhan (born in 1982), has stage 3 diabetes, which has led to serious complications that have caused him to almost completely lose vision in one eye. Despite his illness, Nhan still tries to work to earn an income to support his family. No longer able to do heavy labor, he takes on any job anyone hires him to do, as long as he can do it. On average, he can only work 3-4 days a week. There are days when he gets tired and has cramps while working, and has to take a break in the middle.

Quynh Nhu's mother, Tran Thi Ha (1977), is currently battling late-stage breast cancer. The terrible disease has forced her to have both breasts and lymph nodes in her neck removed. To stay alive, she has to get injections every 3 months at a cost of nearly 3 million VND and take medicine every day, costing about 1 million VND per month. However, due to difficult economic conditions, in recent months she has not been able to follow the treatment regimen properly, and her health has also been deteriorating.

Sisters Quynh Nhu and Le Thi Ly, children who mature early, are willing to sacrifice their own dreams for their family.
Sisters Quynh Nhu and Le Thi Ly, children who mature early, are willing to sacrifice their own dreams for their family.

Her family currently receives a monthly subsidy of 750,000 VND from the local authorities, which helps to maintain their lives. Feeling sorry for her husband's hard work, despite her seriously declining health, Ha still tries to shoulder some of the family's financial burden. She adopted a cow and grew vegetables and squash around the house to sell for extra income. However, due to her increasingly serious illness, most of the work of taking care of the cow and garden has been taken over by Quynh Nhu and her sister instead of their mother.

Unable to hide her remorse, Ms. Ha often blamed herself for not being able to do more, causing her children to struggle early because of the family's difficult circumstances.

Quynh Nhu's older sister is Le Thi Ly (2008), currently studying in grade 11 at Nguyen Duc High School. Ly has always had a burning dream of becoming a teacher, but because she understands her family's situation and does not want to burden her parents with more burdens during their illness, she took the initiative to quit school. Ly shared that she is willing to give up the opportunity to go to school to her younger sister so that Quynh Nhu can continue to pursue her studies.

As for Quynh Nhu, she has always dreamed of becoming a doctor in the future. However, with her current situation, she does not dare to think too far ahead, because her biggest worries are still her parents' health and her ability to continue studying. However, Quynh Nhu still tells herself to try to study well, because if she can study well, she will become a solid support for her family.

MC Dai Nghia could not hide his sadness when witnessing the scene of Quynh Nhu and her sister both going to school and working to help their family. The image of children who still have both parents but are always worried about losing their loved ones to illness made the MC choke up. "They are too young to have to shoulder such big worries," he emotionally shared.

Singer Nguyen Duyen Quynh burst into tears on stage because she deeply sympathized with the situation of the characters. She emotionally recounted: “When I was 26, 27 years old, my mother also had breast cancer. At that time, I did not have the financial means to take care of my mother, I could only go to school during the day, then take advantage of extra work, trade, perform… do everything to have money to buy medicine. I could not afford to take my mother to the hospital, so I just tried my best. Therefore, I understand what these children are going through. Witnessing their stories really moved me .

Unable to hide his emotions, actor Ma Ran Do choked up as he shared his feelings after watching the stories in the program Vietnamese Family Home. He said that he himself had experienced many difficulties, but when he saw the situation of the children, he realized that he was still very lucky.

“I feel like I have so many favorable conditions, while some of my children do not have parents, some have parents but are seriously ill. They have to work early to support their families, while at that age, they should just be going to school and having fun,” Ma Ran Do shared.

The actor couldn’t help but feel sad when he saw children as young as 13-14 years old shouldering so many responsibilities. “I can’t imagine why a child has to do so many things. Jobs that are not meant for children become their daily burden. That really makes me sad,” he added.

The star of the movie “Billionaire Kiss” was also moved by the hard-working sacrifices of the fathers and mothers in the program. For Ma Ran Do, the image of fathers and mothers is very noble and heavenly. Seeing the sacrifices of the parents of the children made him choke up, somewhat nostalgic about his family, about his parents. He said: “I have to look back at myself to love my parents more, spend more time with my family. For me, as long as I can do those simple things, I have to do them quickly, really well for my family, for my parents .

When asked about how to arrange time when becoming an artist, Ma Ran Do had a surprising reaction. “I don’t dare to accept being an artist, I’m just an actor. Because my work schedule is not consistent, I can work for months at a time, and sometimes I can stay home for months. So when I’m home, I take the time to be with my family. If I go away a lot, I call home more often, talk to my parents and family more,” Ma Ran Do confided.

The male guest added that he is a stage actor so he rarely celebrates Tet with his family. Although he is sad and feels sorry for himself, he also feels lucky that his parents always understand and support him in pursuing his career. Ma Ra Do revealed that because he is busy performing during Tet, he often arranges time to go home to reunite with his family before Tet. "For me, everything can be solved, I just try and do my best for my family," he affirmed.
