The foundation for young sprouts

Every year, as June arrives, when the vibrant red of the flamboyant tree blossoms begins to bloom brightly in the schoolyard and the cicadas chirp, calling for sunshine, hearts are filled with anticipation for a special day - International Children's Day on June 1st.

More than just a day for gifts or outings, this holiday has long become a symbol reminding us of love, an invisible thread connecting the responsibility of adults towards the "young sprouts" - those who will continue to write the chronicles of the nation in the future.

Looking back at the long and vast journey of our nation, children have never been outside the flow of history. From the image of the 3-year-old boy from Giong village stretching himself to become a valiant warrior saving the country, to the brave young messengers during the two protracted wars of resistance, or the classrooms in the trenches and shelters of evacuation still filled with laughter...

This is vivid proof that, in any difficult period, the smiles and growth of children have always been the driving force and the enduring foundation for our ancestors to preserve and protect our country.

For a sapling to truly grow and take deep root in the soil, nurturing it is never a one-person responsibility alone. A child's holistic development needs to be built from two inseparable halves: the physical world and the spiritual space.

Starting with the material foundation—healthy milk, nutritious meals, well-equipped schools with books that open up new horizons—caring for children's every need, from their clothing and sleep to protecting them from physical harm, is how we create the safest and most solid protective shell for them.

However, simply providing material comfort isn't enough. Children need a "green environment" for their souls. In today's digital age, where flat screens tend to replace lullabies, and the pressure of academic achievement sometimes weighs heavily on schoolchildren, a truly meaningful space for emotional connection has become a luxury.

Nurturing children's spirits means giving them opportunities to connect with real life: listening to the birds singing in the garden, running barefoot on the grass, learning compassion from fairy tales, and feeling the warmth of their parents' embrace after a long day.

Understanding, listening to, and respecting a child's inner world is the most valuable nourishment for shaping independent, confident, and compassionate personalities.

Today's children are the key workforce of tomorrow. To ensure these young minds are capable of shouldering the burden of the nation in the new era, in addition to a strong foundation of knowledge, we must also cultivate in them a solid identity. This is a harmonious blend of modern global knowledge and national character and self-respect.

When children grow up in a loving and humane environment, they will naturally become aware of their responsibilities to their family and community, transforming their personal dreams into inner strength to build the nation.

Look into the eyes of children to see the future, and look back at ourselves to understand that every action and every word we say today is contributing to shaping the future of our nation.

Caring for and protecting children, both physically and mentally, is a journey back to the core values of continuity, ensuring that the lifeblood of the nation continues to flow, vibrant and sustainable for generations to come.
