The festival was held from January 2nd to 4th in Muong Lay ward. The event was part of a series of activities to welcome the new year, expressing the aspiration for community cohesion, honoring cultural identity, and affirming the potential for developing river tourism in the locality in the new phase.

Besides the main event, the swallowtail boat race, there are also recreational sports activities such as kayak racing, jet skiing, paragliding, and traditional games, contributing to a vibrant and exciting atmosphere that attracts a large number of locals and tourists to participate and cheer.

Alongside this, cultural activities were given special attention, notably: the Thai ethnic cultural space at the Co Khi boat dock area and the Mong ethnic cultural space; and an ethnic cuisine competition showcasing traditional dishes with strong local characteristics...

Representatives of the Vietnam Record Organization presented the record certificate to the representative of the Muong Lay ward leadership.

Notably, the highlight of the event was the establishment of a Vietnamese record for the "Solidarity Circle Dance by the Da Giang River," with the largest number of participants in Vietnam. Accordingly, 10,000 people, including officials, civil servants, employees, union members, association members, armed forces personnel, and residents of the ward, participated, contributing to honoring the traditional cultural values ​​of the Thai ethnic group and strengthening national unity.

At the opening ceremony, the Vietnam Record Organization announced the decision and awarded the Certificate of Recognition for establishing the Vietnam Record for "Dance of Unity by the Da Giang River" - the community-connecting mass performance by the Da Giang River with the largest number of participants in Vietnam.
