Dien Bien: Rewarding forces participating in breaking up a transnational fraud case

On the afternoon of July 22, at the headquarters of Dien Bien Provincial Police, comrade Tran Tien Dung, Deputy Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, on behalf of the provincial leaders, commended and rewarded the forces participating in successfully breaking Project 625T, arresting 74 subjects in a high-tech fraud ring in the Golden Triangle Economic Zone (Laos).

At the ceremony, comrade Tran Tien Dung emphasized: “The outstanding achievements in Project 625T are a vivid demonstration of the sense of responsibility, courage, intelligence and close coordination between Dien Bien Provincial Police and functional units in the country and Laos. This is not only a victory in the fight against crime but also an outstanding achievement in international cooperation in ensuring cyber security and national security.”

He also congratulated and praised the bravery and determination of nearly 200 officers and soldiers participating in the project in overcoming all difficulties and dangers.

This is a timely recognition and encouragement from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Dien Bien province for the great contributions of the police force in ensuring security and order in general and in the outstanding achievement of dismantling a high-tech crime ring in particular.

Previously, Dien Bien Provincial Police presided over and coordinated with other forces to simultaneously launch attacks at hot spots: Golden Triangle (Laos), Tay Trang International Border Gate (Dien Bien), arresting all 74 subjects in a transnational high-tech fraud ring, including many Chinese and Myanmar nationals, seizing hundreds of electronic devices, documents and exhibits serving criminal activities.
