At noon on August 2, the Civil Defense Command of Dien Bien province informed that the authorities had found the bodies of two victims swept away by floodwaters in the early morning of August 1 in Hang Pu Xi village, Xa Dung commune, Dien Bien province.
According to records, at 5:30 a.m. on August 2, rescue forces were present at the scene of flash floods and landslides in Hang Pu Xi village, Xa Dung commune, Dien Bien province to deploy plans and measures to search for two victims missing due to floods.

After many hours of searching, in complex terrain conditions, with lots of mud, large rocks, trees... swept down by the flood, at around 9:30 a.m. on August 2, the authorities located the body in the area where the house floor collapsed due to the flood. At 10:00 a.m., the rescue team found the body of MAD (14 years old) and at 10:30 a.m., they found the body of MAG (12 years old) not far from the location of MAD's body.
Due to the impact of heavy rains that lasted from the night of July 31 to the morning of August 1, Hang Pu Xi village experienced serious flash floods , causing great damage to property and infrastructure and burying and leaving two children of the same family missing. Immediately after receiving the information, functional forces including the Army, police, militia and local people urgently deployed search operations. Equipment such as excavators and bulldozers were also mobilized to the scene to support.
Currently, the authorities are completing the necessary procedures and handing over the victim's body to the family for burial according to local customs.
