President of the Republic of Italy Sergio Mattarella emphasized the significant contributions of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in promoting relations between Vietnam and Italy, which were upgraded to a Strategic Partnership in 2013 during General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to Italy in January 2013. President Mattarella recalled his meeting with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in Hanoi in 2015 and witnessed together the development of friendship between the people of Vietnam and the people of Italy, as well as the determination of both countries to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
★ French President Emmanuel Macron stated that throughout his life of service to his ideals and country, Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong has spared no effort for Vietnam's sovereignty and has led the country to achieve remarkable successes in Vietnam's socio-economic development.
President Macron recalled his meeting with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in Paris in 2018, as well as the topics discussed during their telephone conversation in October 2023, including the determination to strengthen the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries and peoples.
In the letter, President of the Senate of the French Republic Gérard Larcher recalled the topics he had discussed with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong during his visit to Vietnam in December 2022.
