The Politburo assigned Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, to hold the position of Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee.
On June 26, at the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee, a conference was held to announce the Politburo 's decision on personnel work. Politburo member and Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Luong Cuong chaired the conference.
Attending the conference were comrades: Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Commission; Nguyen Duy Ngoc, member of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; representatives of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, and the Executive Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee.
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Quang Duong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee, announced the Politburo's decision on the transfer and assignment of Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, to cease holding the position of member of the Central Military Commission for the 2020-2025 term; to be appointed to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and to join the Party Committee of Military Region I for the 2020-2025 term.
On behalf of the Politburo, Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong presented the decision and flowers to congratulate the new Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee.
Speaking at the assignment, Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong said that to ensure the direct, comprehensive, regular and continuous leadership of the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Party Central Committee over the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee, the Politburo decided to transfer, assign and appoint Mr. Nguyen Van Gau, member of the 13th Party Central Committee, to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong affirmed that Mr. Nguyen Van Gau is a cadre with comprehensive capacity, experience, well-trained, quick thinking and handling of situations, matured from the grassroots, experienced in many working positions. During his participation in work, regardless of position, location, Mr. Nguyen Van Gau always strives to train and make positive contributions to the agency, locality, and unit.
Congratulating Mr. Nguyen Van Gau on his new assignment, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Luong Cuong believes that in his new position, Mr. Nguyen Van Gau will quickly grasp the local situation, continue to promote his experience, capacity, and courage, and work with the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee to build and unite internally, effectively handle existing problems and difficulties, and strive to achieve good results in the targets and tasks of the Resolution of the 19th Bac Giang Provincial Party Congress, in conjunction with the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
The Standing Secretariat requested that the Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee, and leaders at all levels and sectors in the province continue to uphold the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, and exemplary behavior, along with Mr. Nguyen Van Gau, to stabilize the internal situation, focus on leading and directing the implementation of local political tasks. In the immediate future, complete the tasks set out in 2024 and prepare in all aspects to successfully organize Party Congresses at all levels.
Thanking General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Organization Committee for their attention, trust, and introduction to the new position, Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Gau said he would seriously accept all the instructions and assignments from the Standing member of the Secretariat and promised to be determined to properly and fully perform the assigned duties and tasks.
In his new position, the Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee requested and hoped to continue receiving the attention, leadership, direction and assistance of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Government and central agencies, departments and branches; especially the support, assistance, sharing, solidarity and unanimity of the Standing Committee, the Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Party committees at all levels and the political system in the province; comrades, colleagues and people of Bac Giang to successfully complete the assigned tasks.
Mr. Nguyen Van Gau, born on September 16, 1967; hometown: Tan Thuy commune, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province; ethnicity: Kinh; political theory level: Advanced; professional level: Bachelor of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Before 2019, he was a Colonel, Deputy Political Commissar and then Political Commissar of the 8th Infantry Division; Political Commissar of Military Region 9; in 2019, he was a Major General, Political Commissar of Military Region 9; from November 2020 to January 2022, he was a Major General, Political Commissar of Military Region 9.
On January 30, 2021, at the 13th National Congress of the Party, he was elected as a member of the 13th Party Central Committee for the 2021-2026 term; in January 2022, he became Major General, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; in January 2023, he became Lieutenant General, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army./.
