More than 2,500 martyrs, 253 heroic Vietnamese mothers, 17 heroes of the armed forces, more than 6,000 people awarded resistance medals... are the numbers that prove the sacrifices and steadfast fighting of the people of Huong Thuy (old).

After the country's reunification, the Party, government and people of Thanh Thuy, Phu Bai and Huong Thuy wards were united in overcoming the consequences of war. The land left barren by bombs and bullets was gradually restored by the people, reclaimed for production, planted rice and crops, and planted economic forests. With the advantage of National Highway 1A passing through and Phu Bai airport, people took advantage of it and developed multi-service businesses. All levels and sectors invested in building infrastructure, calling on investors to develop industrial parks and industrial clusters in the area, creating stable jobs for many workers... Urban infrastructure as well as people's lives in the wards were gradually invested in and improved.

Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thanh Thuy Ward, Ms. Ho Vu Ngoc Loi, discussed that Thanh Thuy Ward urban area as well as other wards have had strong investment and change in the past 10 years. In particular, in the past 5 years alone, the ward has invested in building nearly 180 projects with a total investment of over 412 billion VND. Many projects have been built, invested in renovation and upgrading, bringing a new look to the urban beautification of the ward.

In addition, Thanh Thuy ward has paid attention to synchronously building infrastructure, especially the structure and traffic system have been upgraded and repaired to serve the travel and production needs of the people. In the ward, there are more than 63km of roads and alleys paved with asphalt and concrete with a total cost of nearly 93 billion VND. The basic works are carried out on schedule and quickly put into use after completion, promoting efficiency, ensuring the quality and technicality of the works.

In Phu Bai ward, in recent years, there has been a focus on investing in synchronous construction and completing a step of modern economic and social infrastructure, bringing a clean and beautiful urban appearance. The result is thanks to Phu Bai ward mobilizing many resources and coordinating well with the city's functional agencies in investing in upgrading the urban transport network.

In addition, external traffic routes connecting to wards and neighboring areas passing through the area are also invested, such as: To Huu road to Phu Bai airport, expanding the connection between Trung Nu Vuong road with Nam Cao, Le Chan, upgrading provincial roads and inner-city routes such as Song Hong, Thuy Phu - Phu Son, bridge over Phu Bai river...

Green city, rich in identity

Faced with new requirements, Phu Bai ward is actively exploiting the potential and strengths of the locality to invest in technical infrastructure projects, residential areas, and resettlement in a synchronous, complete, and modern direction. The urban areas along Nguyen Tat Thanh, Song Hong, and Trung Nu Vuong streets are systematically planned and combined with commercial infrastructure development, socialization in construction investment, management, business, exploitation, etc. Notably, focusing on investment to complete the drainage project in the Thuy Phu and Phu Bai areas (old), focusing on completing the Southeast canal project of the industrial park, building spillways No. 1 and 3, renovating Phu Bai river and Cam Thu dam, building a drainage system through National Highway 1A, a drainage channel from Cam Thu dam to the downstream of Phu Bai bridge.

The ward also prioritizes resources for urban beautification and traffic infrastructure development to ensure urban connectivity between the ward and other urban areas throughout the city. At the same time, investing in the construction of parks and modern residential areas, ensuring aesthetics and security and order, building the urban area in the direction of a green, civilized, unique and pioneering urban area, leading innovative activities, becoming the driving force for development of the entire ward. The advantages of transportation, airports, industrial parks, and new urban areas are promoted to promote industrial development and types of trade - services in finance, banking, health care, education , transportation... General commercial services, market systems, supermarkets, restaurants, hotels along the main roads of the ward... are invested to improve quality.

Mr. Ngo Van Vinh, Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Huong Thuy Ward informed that the ward is implementing planning, urban development and infrastructure construction, new rural areas. Based on the provincial planning, the general urban planning of Thua Thien Hue (now Hue City) approved by the Prime Minister, the ward focuses on establishing and completing zoning plans in the area. Up to now, the coverage rate of the general planning has reached 100%, the urban zoning planning has reached 100%.

Party Secretary and Chairman of Thanh Thuy Ward People's Council Ho Vu Ngoc Loi said that the ward focuses on investing in synchronous construction and one step of perfecting the socio-economic infrastructure in a modern direction. Accordingly, the ward takes advantage of mobilizing and effectively using all investment resources to synchronously and comprehensively develop the urban infrastructure system, combining construction management according to the planning approved by the city. The extended To Huu road to Phu Bai airport through the ward, Khuc Thua Du and Ton That Son streets have been invested in and completed, combined with investment in upgrading urban areas that have been put into operation.

Thanh Thuy, along with other wards, is actively exploiting potentials, advantages, investing and calling for investment in urban infrastructure projects and residential areas in the direction of synchronous and complete infrastructure to auction for budget collection, urban beautification and resettlement services. Through auctioning land use rights, bidding for planned projects and taking advantage of capital support from all levels to invest in the construction of urban infrastructure works.

To contribute to creating a new, modern and civilized urban appearance, the wards actively propagate and mobilize people to agree on the policy of donating land, dismantling fences and gates to widen alleys, creating favorable conditions for travel and building spacious, clean and beautiful alleys, contributing to improving the quality and beauty of the urban area.
