The battle between "aurora borealis" and "colors of hope"

The second night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival DIFF 2023, taking place on June 10th, will feature a light show competition between Canada and France – two newcomers to DIFF for the first time. With the theme "Love Without Borders," visitors will experience a wide range of emotions related to love, from spectacular fireworks displays to unique artistic performances from Vietnamese and international artists.

Canada is a country that blends modernity and antiquity from many diverse cultures. This is the first year that the Hands Fireworks team (Canada) is participating in the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival. Here, the "land of the maple leaf" will present a performance called "Aurora Borealis," with stunning streaks of light across the Da Nang sky. You don't need to go to the North Pole; right by the Han River, you can enjoy the surreal beauty of this captivating natural phenomenon. Especially, visitors will be immersed in a unique musical atmosphere with 14 of the best electronic music tracks from Canada.

Alain Bouthlier, captain of the Canadian team, said: “There are so many festivals and parties held in our country when summer comes. It’s a time for us to celebrate together, to enjoy the dances of life. So you’ll see a lot of effects that we’ve tried to bring to this stage to explain Canadian music and dance through the colors of the fireworks.”

The Finnish team captivated the audience with their multicolored, layered light displays.

Meanwhile, if there is one country in the world considered a symbol of love and romance, it is France. The Arteventia team (France) is participating in DIFF for the first time, but they have already won numerous major awards at fireworks competitions in the United States and Poland in 2019, and in Belgium in 2022. At DIFF 2023, the French team will present the theme "Colors of Hope," reminding us that resilience is the only hope for discovering all the beauty of life.

Edouard Gregoire, captain of the French team, shared: “Coming to DIFF this time, we will bring performances that promise to be very impressive. First, our choice of music is at a moderate volume, making it accessible to all ages. Furthermore, we want to emphasize human understanding and communication with nature. That is also our theme – the colors of hope.”

The second night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2023 featured two spectacular fireworks displays, accompanied by a musical program celebrating love, ranging from passionate rock to cheerful R&B melodies, from international masterpieces by Lady Gaga, Natalie Hemby, Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna, Zaz, to familiar songs by Nguyen Hai Phong - Do Hieu, Vicky Nhung…

With its advanced technology and modern stage design, DIFF 2023 once again affirmed Da Nang's reputation as "Asia's leading destination for events and festivals." After the opening night, many visitors were surprised by the elaborate light show and the stunning stage. Mr. Nguyen Anh Hung from Hanoi shared: "My family was very excited to watch the opening ceremony of the fireworks festival in Da Nang this year. From the spacious stage and unique water fountain show to the music and the vibrant performances of the artists, everything created a surprising overall effect in terms of both visuals and sound, both in terms of light and sound."

DIFF 2023, themed “A World Without Borders,” will take place from June 2nd to July 8th, 2023, at the fireworks stage on the Han River. It will feature five competition nights and the participation of eight fireworks teams, including seven international teams: the UK, Italy, Poland, France, Australia, Canada, and Finland, and the Vietnamese representative team from Da Nang. The second night will be broadcast on Da Nang Television (DRT) at 8:10 PM on June 10th.
