Quang Duc commune launches professional farmers' association for growing medicinal plants.

To promote the movement of skilled farmers in production and business and to achieve the goal of sustainable economic development in the locality.

On December 19th, the Farmers' Association of Quang Duc commune held a ceremony to launch the establishment of a professional farmers' association specializing in medicinal plant cultivation.

This is an important step in concretizing Resolution No. 04-NQ/HNDTW, dated August 5, 2019, of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association on building professional branch and group models, meeting the legitimate aspirations of members in linking and developing medicinal plants.

The group was established with the participation of 10 members, with Mr. Phun Van Hoa as the group leader, and its regular meeting place is at the former headquarters of the Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee of Quang Duc commune.

The association's activities are based on the "5 Selfs" principle: self-awareness, voluntariness, self-reliance, self-management, and self-responsibility; and the "5 Togethers" principle: shared work, shared interests, shared responsibility, and shared benefits. The core objective of the association is to unite and gather members to provide technical support, share production experiences, apply scientific and technological advancements, and especially to coordinate product distribution to increase income and stabilize the lives of farmers. Besides supporting production, the association also acts as a bridge to convey the thoughts and aspirations of its members to the Party Committee and government at all levels, while also helping to protect the legitimate rights of farmers in the production linkage process.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Van Viet, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Duc commune, praised the proactive spirit of the Farmers' Association and its members in forming a new professional linkage model. To ensure the effective and in-depth operation of the association, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee requested that specialized departments and the commune's service supply center actively participate and proactively coordinate closely to support the association with technical advice, supply of quality materials, and finding sustainable markets. He emphasized that supporting farmers should not only stop at training sessions but also involve working closely with them in building brands and improving the quality standards of local medicinal products to create high economic value, contributing to the successful implementation of the new rural development program in Quang Duc commune.
