Hanoi Police's first defeat in the 2025/26 V.League season unexpectedly created a turning point in the championship race, while in the lower half of the table, the strong comebacks of teams like Song Lam Nghe An, Thep Xanh Nam Dinh, andSHB Da Nang have significantly altered the relegation battle.

The highlight of V.League Round 15 is the Hanoi football derby between Hanoi FC and Hanoi Police, with one side being the V.League record holder with 6 championships, and the other being the strongest team in the V.League with an unbeaten record after 13 rounds.

Over 10,000 spectators packed into Hang Day Stadium witnessed a truly spectacular football feast as players from both teams delivered fierce and intense plays, befitting the nature of a derby match.

It must also be acknowledged that the appointment of Malaysian referee Muhammad Nazmi Bin Nasaruddin to officiate the match between Hanoi FC and Hanoi Police FC ensured that the 90 minutes of play at Hang Day Stadium, although tense, remained under control, and most importantly, no controversial decisions occurred.

Amidst the fiery atmosphere of the derby, Hanoi FC showed why they are V.League record holders, leading Hanoi Police 2-0 until injury time. Leo Artur's penalty goal only added to the suspense in the final moments, but it couldn't prevent the victory for coach Harry Kewell's team.

Fans were hoping that Dinh Bac, a star of Hanoi Police FC at the U23 Asian Championship, would score his first goal in the 2025/26 V.League season, but he has yet to show his form. It's a shame that this young striker, a "hero" of the Vietnam U23 team, hasn't scored a single goal after 15 rounds. This also demonstrates the significant difference in skill level between youth tournaments like the SEA Games and the V.League.

With this victory, although still in 4th place, Hanoi FC has narrowed the points gap with Ninh Binh , who are above them, to just 4 points. Meanwhile, Hanoi Police, despite still leading the table and having a game in hand, is now only 4 points ahead of The Cong, who won 3-1 away at Becamex Ho Chi Minh City in Binh Duong, thus closing the gap with Hanoi Police.

This situation makes the V.League championship race extremely unpredictable, as the point difference between the teams is not too large, and there are still 11 rounds left before the champion is determined.

Similar to the title race, the relegation battle in the bottom half of the table has also seen extremely tense developments in the recent rounds.

The courageous and resilient fighting spirit of teams like Song Lam Nghe An, Dong A Thanh Hoa, and SHB Da Nang not only significantly altered the standings but also helped viewers realize that no matter how developed professional football becomes, the strong regional identity of clubs like Song Lam Nghe An and Thanh Hoa remains a unique hallmark of the V.League.

Round 15 witnessed a strong surge from the Nghe An team, with their third consecutive victory, including two wins away from home, propelling them into the middle of the table and temporarily away from the relegation zone.

Dinh Bac failed to score, Hanoi Police lost the match.

Meanwhile, despite playing away against Ninh Binh, who were desperate for a win after a streak of three consecutive losses and had just undergone a change on the coaching bench, SHB Da Nang still forced Hoang Duc and his teammates to settle for a draw at Ninh Binh Arena.

The four points earned from the last two matches is a very commendable achievement for Da Nang's efforts, and this result also reflects the reality that in the V.League 2025/26 season, no team is unbeatable, and whether it's a championship race or a relegation battle, the opportunity remains open for all clubs until the final round.
