Huynh Phuc Huy, a second-grade student from Viet-Australian Primary School, and Tran Duc Kien, a student from Luong The Vinh Primary School, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, won first prize in the competition.
In addition, the organizers also awarded 4 second prizes, 8 third prizes, and 20 consolation prizes in two categories: Category A (for students in grades 1, 2, and 3) and Category B (grades 4 and 5).
The competition not only aims to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975) but also to honor the historical, cultural, and architectural value of the Independence Palace - a special national monument, associated with the sacred and heroic moment of the nation.
Expressing love for the country through the Independence Palace - Colors of heritage
Huynh Phuc Huy's artwork, "Unified Vietnam," depicts the Independence Palace today alongside the modern Bitexco Tower and Landmark 81 – iconic symbols of Ho Chi Minh City.
Meanwhile, Tran Duc Kien's painting , "Victory of April 30, 1975, " evokes nostalgia, depicting soldiers driving tanks in the palace.

The Independence Palace drawing contest - Colors of Heritage - for elementary school children in Ho Chi Minh City was organized by the Reunification Hall. In just one month, the organizing committee received 785 entries from schools.
Mr. Tran Huu Phuoc - Deputy Director of the Reunification Hall and Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition - shared: "Each painting is a unique perspective, a personal and deeply moving feeling about the Independence Palace."
The artworks are not only artistically beautiful, but also rich in emotion and historical significance.
Through the innocent and pure brushstrokes of the children, the Independence Palace is depicted as majestic in the heart of the city, conveying a profound message of peace , national pride, and aspirations for the future.
Artist Doan The Vy, a member of the judging panel, commented that he could feel the beautiful emotions and feelings that the children poured into their heartfelt drawings.

According to the organizers, the competition also aims to summarize the 10-year journey of the program. Exploring Heritage - a program designed for students with a diverse range of activities to help them become interested and proactive in learning about the history and culture of the nation, while also providing opportunities for them to develop creativity and important skills such as teamwork, presentation, and problem-solving.
The submitted works will be displayed at the Independence Palace historical site from April 19th to May 5th.
