Huynh Phuc Huy, a second grade student at Viet Uc Primary School, and Tran Duc Kien, a student at Luong The Vinh Primary School, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City won first prize in the contest.
In addition, the organizing committee also awarded 4 second prizes, 8 third prizes and 20 consolation prizes in two groups A (for students in grades 1, 2, 3) and group B (grades 4, 5).
The contest not only aims to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975) but also honors the historical, cultural and architectural values of the Independence Palace - a special national monument, associated with the heroic and sacred moments of the country.

Huynh Phuc Huy's work Unified Vietnam is an image of the Independence Palace today next to the modern Bitexco building and Landmark 81 - typical symbols of Ho Chi Minh City.
The painting "Victory April 30, 1975" by Tran Duc Kien is nostalgic, with the image of soldiers driving a tank in the palace.

The Independence Palace - Heritage Colors Drawing Contest for primary school children in Ho Chi Minh City was organized by Thong Nhat Hall. In just one month, the organizing committee received 785 entries from schools.
Mr. Tran Huu Phuoc - Deputy Director of Thong Nhat Hall, head of the contest's organizing committee - shared: "Each painting is a unique perspective, a unique and moving feeling about the Independence Palace relic.
The works are not only artistically beautiful, but also emotional and historically significant.
Through the innocent and pure brushstrokes of the children, we see a majestic Independence Palace in the heart of the city and a profound message of peace , national pride and aspirations for the future.
Artist Doan The Vy, a member of the jury, commented that he felt the beautiful emotions and feelings the children put into their dedicated drawings.

According to the organizers, the contest also aims to summarize the 10-year journey of implementing the program. Heritage Discovery - a program designed for students with a diverse range of activities to help students be interested in and actively learn about history and national culture, and create conditions for students to promote creativity and develop important skills such as teamwork, presentation and problem solving.
Selected entries will be displayed at the historical site of the Independence Palace from April 19 to May 5.
