Novak Djokovic made a breakthrough at Roland Garros, where he won 100 matches at a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in his illustrious career.
The 38-year-old Serbian was in superb form, beating Cameron Norrie 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals of the clay-court Grand Slam for the 16th consecutive year. Djokovic, a three-time champion at Roland Garros, is only the second player to reach 100 wins at the event, after the legendary Rafael Nadal (112).

"It's a very nice number, but 101 wins sounds better. I'll keep looking for another win, it's obviously not over for me here. I'm honored to make history in this sport , the sport that has given me everything in life," Djokovic said after the match.
With an impressive 19-0 record in fourth-round matches at Roland Garros, Djokovic will face third seed and last year's runner-up, Alexander Zverev, in the quarterfinals. The Serb leads Zverev 8-5 in the head-to-head series, although he retired from their last meeting in the Australian Open semi-finals in January.
Djokovic made a fast start to his match against Norrie on Court Philippe Chatrier, easily handling the Briton's attempts to extend the game and quickly winning the opening set after both players traded early breaks.
Norrie, aiming to reach his second Grand Slam quarter-final, switched to a more attacking style in the second set, which coincided with a number of errors by Djokovic. However, the Serb quickly regained his form with a series of beautiful winners and smart play at the net.

Norrie had to take a timeout to treat his left ankle at 3-4 in the second set. The injury appeared to halt his momentum, as Djokovic rallied, winning eight of the final 10 games to seal the victory in two hours and 14 minutes. With the win, Djokovic also became the oldest quarter-finalist at Roland Garros since Istvan Gulyas (39) in 1971.
“I feel good. I always have high expectations, I know that I can always play better every day. I played 12 sets and won them all, so until now, everything is positive and solid," Djokovic added.
The ATP No. 6 is chasing a record 25th Grand Slam title this week. Djokovic currently has an impressive 100-16 record at Roland Garros.
