In the program to pay tribute to heroic martyrs in the Central region on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, a delegation of leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city led by comrade Le Tien Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong city, offered incense at the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Quang Tri province.

The Secretary of the City Party Committee and the delegation of leaders of Hai Phong city respectfully commemorated and expressed their infinite gratitude for the great contributions and pure moral example of General Vo Nguyen Giap, the legendary general, military genius, and excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh.

Before the spirit of General Vo Nguyen Giap, the Secretary of the City Party Committee and the delegation of leaders of Hai Phong city vow to promote the tradition of the heroic Port City, unite, strive, accelerate the innovation process, and build the city to become increasingly modern and civilized.

Born in his hometown of Quang Binh, now Quang Tri province, General Vo Nguyen Giap's life and career were closely linked to the development of the revolution and the important historical milestones of the Party and the nation, especially the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu "famous in five continents, shaking the earth". The General always set a shining example of revolutionary spirit, creativity in military art, the art of commanding troops, determination to fight and victory, defeating all plots and tricks of war of the enemy. The General had many great achievements and made especially outstanding contributions to the revolutionary cause of our Party and nation.
