During their visit to the Vung Ang Economic Zone (Ha Tinh province), the delegation from the Trnava Autonomous Region of the Republic of Slovakia highly appreciated the development of businesses with modern production processes, making a significant contribution to the local economy.
As part of their working visit to Ha Tinh , on the morning of November 29th, the delegation from the Trnava Autonomous Region of the Slovak Republic, led by Mr. Jozep Vikupic, Chairman of the Trnava Autonomous Region, visited the Vung Ang Economic Zone. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bau Ha, and leaders of several departments and agencies accompanied the delegation. |
The delegation visited and worked with the Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant. This is the largest coal-fired thermal power plant in Central Vietnam, with two generating units and a total capacity of 1,200 MW. The plant currently provides employment for 426 workers and makes a significant contribution to the development of Ha Tinh's industrial sector.
In 2023, the plant is expected to produce over 4.5 billion kWh and generate nearly 9,000 billion VND in revenue.
Next, the delegation visited the VinES Battery Manufacturing Plant, invested in by Vingroup . There, representatives from the plant provided an overview of its operations, production technology, and products.
The VinES Battery Factory, with a total registered capital of over 3.784 billion VND, commenced construction in December 2021 and officially began operations in July 2023. It currently produces approximately 1,000 battery pack products and employs 150 workers. This is a promising unit expected to make significant contributions to the industrial and socio-economic development of Ha Tinh province.
The delegation also visited the iron and steel production plant and Son Duong deep-water port of Formosa Ha Tinh Hung Nghiep Iron and Steel Company Limited (FHS). The delegation received information on production, business operations, environmental protection, and social welfare activities. Each year, FHS produces over 6 million tons of iron and steel, serving both domestic and export markets and making a significant contribution to the national budget. The company currently provides stable employment for over 6,500 workers.
The delegation listened to a presentation on the wastewater treatment process of Formosa Ha Tinh Hung Nghiep Steel Company Limited.
The group visited and learned about Son Duong Deepwater Port.
During their visit, Mr. Jozep Vikupic and the members of the Trnava Autonomous Region delegation were impressed with the modern and synchronized production processes of the enterprises and highly appreciated the development and contributions of these businesses to the industrial and economic sectors of Ha Tinh. The delegation also highly appreciated the potential, advantages, and efforts in attracting investment to the Vung Ang Economic Zone in Ha Tinh. Mr. Jozep Vikupic also provided a brief overview of the industrial development of the Trnava Autonomous Region and its contributions to Slovakia. |
