Based on the reports of insurance companies on the situation of damage, compensation and insurance payments for the capsized tourist service ship Blue Bay 58, a representative of the Department of Insurance Management and Supervision ( Ministry of Finance ) said that as of July 30, the total amount of compensation and insurance payments is expected to be 23.4 billion VND.

Of which, the total expected non-life insurance compensation is VND3.3 billion, including VND1.2 billion from the ship owner's civil liability insurance for passengers and crew accident insurance (Bao Long); VND1.1 billion from passenger accident insurance co-insured by Bao Viet with PTI, MIC and BSH; VND1 billion from credit insurance (AAA).
For the life insurance sector, the total expected insurance payout is VND20.1 billion, of which Manulife and Generali are expected to pay the largest amount, VND7.62 billion and VND6.25 billion, respectively; Bao Viet VND1.2 billion; Dai-ichi VND0.72 billion; Prudential VND0.23 billion; AIA VND4.04 billion and Shinhan VND0.08 billion.
After the incident, according to the Ministry of Finance, insurance companies proactively contacted the families of the victims to proceed with compensation and insurance payments. The Department of Insurance Management and Supervision is actively monitoring, urging, supporting and guiding insurance companies in the process of advance payment, compensation..., ensuring that compensation is quick, complete and timely.
Previously, on July 19, in the Ti Top island area, Quang Ninh province, the tourist service ship Vinh Xanh 58 (QN 7105) capsized, causing damage to people and property, killing 39 people and 10 people were fortunately rescued.
