Hai Phong businesses accompany and contribute ideas to develop the city

Turn advantages into opportunities

Hai Phong Logistics Association currently gathers more than 100 member enterprises operating in the field of logistics and maritime economy . With the desire to build Hai Phong into a strategic growth pole of the country, Hai Phong Logistics Association proposes 6 main solutions to turn the city's unique advantages into opportunities for strong breakthroughs in a number of fields, such as: seaports, sea container transport, inland waterway transport, railways, road transport, warehousing, shipbuilding, precision mechanics.

According to the Hai Phong Logistics Association, currently, container transport by waterway only accounts for about 2% of the total volume of goods passing through the Hai Phong port system. According to Mr. Tran Tien Dung, Chairman of the Hai Phong Logistics Association, to encourage the development of this group, the Association suggests that the city consider not collecting port infrastructure fees for containers transported by inland waterway transport and coastal transport with the goal of making waterway transport responsible for at least 20% of container cargo through Hai Phong port by 2030; have more preferential mechanisms for businesses investing in developing a container transport fleet...

Dai An Joint Stock Company, the investor of Dai An Industrial Park with an area of ​​603 hectares in Tu Minh ward, is a company with 24 years of experience in the field of investment, construction and business of industrial park technical infrastructure. This industrial park currently attracts 97 FDI enterprises and domestic enterprises to invest, with a total registered capital of 4.2 billion USD; creating jobs and stable income for 50,000 local and provincial workers. Enterprises in Dai An Industrial Park pay more taxes to the State each year than the previous year.

Towards the common goal of a sustainable Hai Phong, Mr. Truong Tu Phuong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dai An Joint Stock Company, also made a number of proposals to strongly improve the investment attraction environment for businesses. Specifically, the city needs to speed up the progress of establishing, submitting for approval, and adjusting the planning of Hai Phong city for the period 2021 - 2030; establishing the planning of the Southern Coastal Economic Zone of Hai Phong, the Western Specialized Economic Zone, and the Northern Economic Zone of the city. In addition, businesses proposed that the city should focus on removing obstacles in land policies and site clearance because in reality, slow-progressing projects are mostly stuck at this stage.

Entering the 2026-2030 term, the city has many great opportunities but also many challenges. Hai Phong aims to become the leading economic center of the country, a strategic regional and international trade hub, a leader in industrialization, digital transformation, green transformation and innovation. Therefore, the above recommendations, proposals and suggestions of the two enterprises in particular, and enterprises in the city in general, are extremely important in the journey to make Hai Phong a civilized, modern and livable city in Southeast Asia.

The vivid reality in Hai Phong shows that, with 45,155 operating enterprises, the private economic sector contributes more than 40% of GRDP, more than 50% of domestic budget revenue, creating jobs for about 50% of the workforce; 16 private enterprises of the city are in the top 500 largest private enterprises in Vietnam. Many enterprises promote technological innovation, improve productivity, expand markets, especially in key areas.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the city's socio-economic situation achieved many positive results, most of the indicators increased compared to the same period, in which the city's economic growth rate continued to maintain the second highest position in the country, leading in 6 centrally-run cities and 1.48 times higher than the GDP growth rate of the whole country (7.82%). In addition to efforts to develop business and maintain growth, the business community also demonstrated the spirit of solidarity and community in the work of epidemic prevention and control, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, social security, etc.

Most of Hai Phong's enterprises still clearly identify the current difficulties and obstacles, especially the weak competitiveness of Hai Phong's goods, services and products... Mr. Tran Van Thang, Chairman of Hai Phong Business Association, said that the growth potential of Hai Phong's land and people is very large. If some of the above bottlenecks can be overcome, all resources will flow directly into investment and production. Along with the "launching pad" of Resolution 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo , Action Program 07 of the City Party Committee on private economic development..., the city's business community is constantly growing, contributing more to the homeland.

Speaking at the Hai Phong City Business Meeting, within the framework of the 21st anniversary of Vietnam Entrepreneurs' Day (October 13, 2004 - October 13, 2025), held on October 11, Comrade Le Ngoc Chau, Chairman of the City People's Committee, suggested: "In the coming time, the business community will continue to accompany the city, proactively propose solutions, choose breakthrough and creative directions, seize opportunities; not only grow but also make practical contributions to the development of the city and the country. The city is committed to always accompany, support and create the most favorable conditions for businesses to develop sustainably and successfully, on the basis of firmly implementing the viewpoint: If businesses succeed, the city will develop; if the city develops, businesses will prosper".
