According to a VNA correspondent in Jakarta, the Indonesian city of Bandung has once again affirmed its position as a “Creative City” of the United Nations Educational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), with the Batik and Handicrafts Festival 2025 taking place with many products bearing the local mark.

The event showcases a wide variety of handicrafts from across Indonesia, from Batik fabrics, embroidered textiles to ethnic accessories and products from local small businesses.

The festival (English name is Indonesia Batik & Craft Festival 2025) is not only a space for cultural exchange but also a platform for learning and promoting the local creative economy , while encouraging people to use domestic products.

Held in downtown Bandung during the first week of August, the festival is an important platform for artisans to showcase their excellent works and for small businesses to gain more market access.

The organizers said this is an opportunity to affirm the heritage of handicraft products such as Batik fabric and textiles and embroidery, which not only have high aesthetic value but also carry cultural and philosophical imprints and meanings.

The festival is not only a space for cultural exchange, introducing many unique products from localities, but also a platform for learning and promoting Indonesia's creative economy.
