Facilities gradually meet

Tri Phai Primary School (Tri Phai Commune) is one of the bright spots in maintaining the 2-session/day , semi-boarding teaching model. In the 2025-2026 school year, the school has more than 1,000 students, of which 150 are semi-boarders. The school has arranged 4 rooms with 60 beds (0.8m x 1.8m/bed), ensuring a place for students to rest at noon. The clean water system was invested and put into use since 2019, contributing to improving living conditions for students.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sang, Principal of the school, said: “The school has determined that organizing boarding is a practical need. Children can rest right at school, with teachers in charge, ensuring both their health and convenience for studying all day. This is also a way to help parents feel secure in their work and production. Recently, we have focused on upgrading the rest rooms, kitchen area and auxiliary items. Thanks to that, the school met national standards level 1 in 2016 and upgraded to level 2 in 2024.”

Student Pham Nguyen Hung Ngoc, class 5A3, shared: “I find studying all day at school very convenient. At noon, there is a place to eat and rest comfortably to continue studying in the afternoon, so I don’t have to travel much. I also have more time to participate in activities with teachers and friends.”

In fact, the boarding model at Tri Phai Primary School has been clearly effective in ensuring health, maintaining learning habits and improving the quality of comprehensive education .

Promote implementation across the province

Not only in Tri Phai commune, the model of teaching 2 sessions/day, boarding is being strongly implemented throughout Ca Mau province.

Currently, 100% of kindergartens in the province have organized 2 sessions/day, of which 207/216 schools have organized boarding schools, reaching a rate of 95.83%. At the primary level, 304/313 schools have organized 2 sessions/day (over 97%), of which 43 schools have organized boarding schools. At the secondary level, the rate of schools organizing 2 sessions/day is over 42%.

Mr. Tran Minh Luan, Principal of Tan Loi Primary School (Ho Thi Ky Commune), shared: “Currently, the school does not have enough conditions to organize a boarding model. At the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, we surveyed, collected opinions from parents and asked for approval from the People's Committee of Ho Thi Ky Commune to build boarding rooms for students in the coming time. This is a great desire of both parents and the school to create favorable conditions for students to study.”

To meet practical requirements, Ca Mau province has issued a project to organize 2 sessions/day, boarding for public preschool and general education levels, with a total budget of more than 940 billion VND. This capital is used to build and repair facilities, equipment and support implementation costs for schools.

" The project, in which the province invested more than 940 billion VND, is a strategic step, helping the education sector gradually overcome difficulties in facilities, while improving the quality of student care and education."   Dr. Le Hoang Du, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, emphasized.

In practice, the model of teaching 2 sessions/day and boarding has brought about many positive results: students are better cared for, parents have less worries, and the quality of comprehensive education has clearly changed.

From typical models such as Tri Phai Primary School and many other units, it can be expected that in the coming time, localities will continue to replicate and promote effectiveness, aiming at the goal of building a synchronous, safe, friendly and sustainable educational development for Ca Mau students.
