On the afternoon of October 5, from the rooftop of an apartment building, photographer Minh Hoa accidentally captured the moment when Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh) appeared and disappeared in the sunset. Initially, his purpose was to "hunt" for photos of the Moon on the 14th day of the Lunar calendar, when the moon rises early while the sky is still blue, creating a unique scene next to skyscrapers. However, because the moon was obscured by clouds, he decided to turn the lens in the opposite direction and was surprised to see Ba Den Mountain.

This is the third time in four months that the author has captured images of Ba Den Mountain from Ho Chi Minh City, nearly 100 km away from Tay Ninh as the crow flies. What's special is that all three times, he did not intend to "hunt mountains". "I seemed to burst with emotion and happiness," he told Tri Thuc - Znews.

This time, the moment the plane glided right over the mountain was the author's favorite image. "At that time, the sun had just gone down, breaking through the clouds, creating beautiful streaks of sunlight. The sunset rays filtered through the buildings, blending with the image of Ba Den Mountain in the distance, creating a rare and beautiful scene," he said.

The first time Mr. Hoa "hunted" Ba Den Mountain was at 6 p.m. on June 29, in "rare" clear weather conditions since Covid-19. To confirm that it was Ba Den Mountain, the photographer relied on the image of the 72-meter-high Tay Bo Da Son Buddha statue on the top of the mountain and compared the viewing direction on the Google Maps application. Another highlight in the photo is the appearance of an airplane preparing to land at Tan Son Nhat Airport.

Ba Den Mountain is an extinct volcano located in Binh Minh Ward (Tay Ninh Province). The highest mountain in the Southern region (about 986 m) was recognized as a national historical relic and scenic spot by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) on January 21, 1991.

Whether in the past or present, the site has always been a famous spiritual tourist destination for Buddhists, especially the popular pilgrimage time is the Ba Den Mountain Spring Festival (held from January 4th to the end of January every year).

In August 2019, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recognized the Linh Son Thanh Mau festival of Ba Den Mountain as a national intangible cultural heritage. As of July, the destination has welcomed about 4 million visitors.
