A few days ago, social media in Indonesia was abuzz with news that 7 badminton players were involved in multiple match-fixing cases. Notably, 3 of them are national players, having won many titles.

The specific identities of the athletes have not been revealed. The Indonesian Badminton Federation (PBSI) has not commented on the incident, nor has it confirmed which tournaments the players were involved in.

However, a well-known figure in the badminton world confirmed that this information is completely correct. That person is Mr. Yoppy Rosimin, President of PB Djarum Club, one of the largest and oldest badminton teams in Indonesia.

Some of the seven players involved in the case are from PB Djarum. Mr. Rosimin told Tribunews : "The information that Indonesian badminton players are involved in match-fixing is true. Some of them are from my club. Now we will follow the regulations and procedures of PBSI as well as the authorities."

While PBSI remains "inactive", the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) has made a response. The agency's president, Raja Sapta Oktohari, said: "We will discuss with PBSI. If these violations are proven, disciplinary action will certainly be taken."

The KOI president also emphasized the need to come up with solutions to prevent match-fixing like this from happening again.
